Sold your GT3 yet? Decided what you're replacing it with?

On another topic I think that people need to seriously look at what they are selling these Spyders for, £40k for one isn't daft really when you look at how expensive new cars are and what your getting. Dealers will always try and steal your car including Indys so I think unless your desperate to sell put it up for strong money or be a mug and give a dealer a lump of profit, Spyders a bargain when comparing to 997 GT3 non RS.

People have Bmw Z8's and the likes up for mad money and they couldn't hold a candle to a Spyder!! These cars were sold in the height of a recession and have everything going for them in the future classic stakes.

A number of collectors have apparently bought Spyders over in the USA so here's hoping it rubs off over here.

m33ufo, why the change? Is it mainly for the PDK box? I'll have it off you when you're done with it!

Surprised Keith didn't go for the ceramics. Him an Liam are real car nuts.

When I sold my old Spyder the last thing I was looking for was another so soon. I did anticipate I'd own one again at some point if an appealing spec came up. I was looking for a change and considering R8's, AM V8V 4.7's, 997TT's etc but after 3 or 4 weeks of constant browsing of the ads I was a little uninspired.

Saw the ad from 911V last Saturday lunchtime (no pic, just the spec) and it called to me, and probably a few others! Main attraction was the colour which I hadn't seen on a Spyder before or even heard of in the UK (seems there's another on DSpyda), and the full leather which again was unusual and desireable. It's a contrasting spec to my previous Spyder but also appealing.

PCCB is a great option. Guess you can't have everything smile

Whilst we're on the topic of niceties on a Spyder ...(sort of).... I've got a set of the standard satin black exhaust tailpipes but can't decide on whether to keep the chrome ones that are on, or swap to black.

As there's nothing else chrome or shiny on the car I'm thinking black....and it blends into the rear diffuser.

Any opinions?
I know ultimately its my decision, blah blah blah....

I think black would work very well.

I assume they make no difference to the sound of the PSE?

The shape is slightly different to the chrome ones.

The badge from the rear of my Spyder is off,You can only get black ones
from the dealer. My car is black so I think silver would be better to match
the ones on the side of the car.Does anybody have a j peg down load so that
i can get one made up.If not a photo with the sizers my help.

Is it not easier to paint the black one?

Personally, I'd leave it, a black on black badge is nice and subtle.

I think that a genuine badge is about £22 from Porsche so not sure you'd source a decent copy for much less?

Tell me more, where from, what they like, how easy to fit? I always fancied the black bins on my car but didn't think they were available separate. For my car, white with black decal/wheels, I think they would look perfect.

Sorry for the thread hi-jack m33ufo.

Ah, well - here's the thing...

I had my OPC fit a PSE to my car when I bought it, as it just had a stock exhaust.
When I went to pick it up it had the standard lack tailpipes on which I wasn't happy with.

So, they fitted the chrome ones and gave me the black ones back.
I now prefer the black and I'm having them fitted tomorrow smile

Don't know if you can buy them separately - perhaps some OPC's may have some knocking about from people buying PSE's?

Last two were very disappointing - I read on the Internet that the roof would leak but both resolutely refused.
