hi before you part with your hard erned cash see a syciatrist and he might talk you into buying a proper well thouht and well buil car like an audi R8 ore invest your cash in ferrari 328 which will apriciate in years to come not deppriciate crack and corrode like porsches.by the way that only my opinion
With respect, it is people who think of buying a car as an investment that would benefit from psychiatric help. Commercial forests, gold, agricultural land, quality rental property and a few (very select) shares are investments. I buy a car to use and abuse and the Boxster is to thrash up and down France and Spain. I don't think I could have bought anything better. A Ferrari 328 would be very nice but what will it be like after 50.000 miles in 3 years and how much would it cost to maintain? I could, of course, keep it in a garage, polish it and take it out on a Sunday but can't see the fun in that.

If you need any help with your investment strategy let me know, always willing to help. smile

£20k of options and there are another couple I would have liked...madness nuts
Enjoy! Those options are approaching 50% of the total cost of my car!
Couldn't see climate in there, remember you don't want to be out specced by a Peugeot 107 wink
Ozzie, thats the madness of it! You car will drive no differently to mine for 99% of the time, mine just has a few more bells and whistles and I will be cocooned in a bit more leather. You pays yer money....

Globs. Drive with the top down if not raining and the window open if it is. Couldn't bring myself to get air con in a soft top, hope I don't regret it. Doubt that I will, we shave with half bricks and put ferrets down our pants oop 'ere.

Why the Hell would anyone want an R8 over a Porsche?
Wobbly, lardy and with suspect handling is all any Audi can give.

Just my opinion, clearly.

I was going to get the electric, memory sports seat as a middle of the road, then I tried the sports plus and just had to have those. (If you have the right body shape for the sports seats plus they are brilliant) But, the sports plus with memory cost about the same as Puerto Rico's GDP so now got the vanilla sports plus that you have to pump to adjust. Unless I can keep my wife out of it that is going to be a PITA adjusting every time and it is one of the options I think I should have had frown

Having said that (and I'm guessing here) the Sports plus with memory and all those motors, servos, gears etc must be one of the heaviest options you can put on. Every cloud has a silver lining smile

You still get aircon just not climate, I didn't spec it either and pleased I didn't,
my new 1 series has climate and it does my head in!

Peugeot 107 does not have climate either, just air.....

The full electric seats are nice but they stop you sitting low in the car. The lowest position is really quite high...........

Sounds odd - mine goes in smoothly every time (no vulgarity intended)...

People buying a mid-price car like this as an investment can't really afford it. They'll never become 250GTOs or DB5s.

You mean to a more expensive variant that you can't lower the top on?
Ok, call me nuts, call all the manufacturers charging more for convertible variants nuts, but what's the attraction of the cayman over the boxster??

Just completing a 3000 mile trip through Europe. A500 (Black Forest) Stelvio Pass and today Route Napoleon. I can assure you it wouldn't have been the same in a hard top. The boxster is quiet with the top up and tremendous fun with the top down.

Simple for me - I don't like convertibles. If I want to be out in the breeze, I just get my motorbike out.

My Boxster lives outside don't want bad weather taking its toll, verbal abuse by people when the roofs down, going shopping and when getting back to the car with scroats looking in it on two occasions now, people wanting to race me.
Its my 1st Porsche and you certainly get a reaction driving it, Just thought the cayman would be less vulnerable etc.
The cost to change by the way is eye watering!

I'm not sure it is tbh, a scratched roof may cost nearly the same as a damaged cloth top.
It sounds like any nice car is a target where you drive, perhaps an old jag might cure the hostility?

Sadly this country has turned into a rather bitter and jealous one, and I'm finding the choice of a brand/model that people 'like' is increasing playing a part in what I drive. Sometimes it's also nice to have an invisible 10 year old car (Pug/Saab etc - no one sees them), as well as a weekend car to keep out of Lidl/tesco car parks.

Lol, my pal runs a 500 quid, 150k mile, 15 year old SAAB which we use to leave behind Wetherspoons in a less than swanky area. No one even sees it!

I think the Cayman is better looking and more ridged ....but I love the Boxster too...so don't give me abuse!!!
