New Porsche Cayenne Diesel
Discussion
Boris's proposal to add an Extra Tax to Diesel Cars reported yesterday in the Times will knock a lump out of the Diesel Market.

Anyone else with Cayennes delivered this year got the random alarm issue? Had it documented and checked out a few months ago and still double locking the car now. Haven't heard anything about a fix from OPC but is that because they're lazy? I'd have thought they'd love to bring in a bunch of cars for warranty work to bill Porsche with!

I got mine in June and have had the alarm go off a few times, been meaning to speak to the dealer about it. Seems to happen when it's parked somewhere enclosed (like underground car park) or under/next to trees.Fezzaman said:

I have this problem - meant to give OPC Reading a call today but forgot. I'll chase the service department in the morning to see if they have the new sensors in yet...Pete

Hi Saj,
Great looking car you have there! Mine is in the blue and I was thinking of getting the same done. Question about the brake dust though. How are your calipers holding up a few years on? Do they look just as fresh?
Thanks for the compliment, absolutely like the day I got the car, but I have never let anyone clean the car, I do it myself, good scrub with some soft brushes and car shampoo is all it needs, cars going in for a service in 2 weeks, and I mentioned please do not wash the car, and the the lady at service desk said yes we have a note on your records, LOL.Great looking car you have there! Well after much faffing around due to just sheer lack of time I FINALLY managed to get mine done. I know there are bound to be some haters but I think they look stunning and just sad that I didn't get them done sooner
Only thing letting them down now are the worn out wheel centre crests...
Hello everyone
I'm looking to buy a used Porsche Cayenne. Is it possible to see what options they have from the number plate?
I'm looking at a few auction houses and they're not the best described and before I do a long journey up there just wanted to make sure it has the spec I want.
Not to fussy but ideally memory seats, air suspension, multi function steering wheel.

Had an email from my OPC the other day, extolling the virtues of the facelift Cayenne which is due to arrive in showrooms in October.
Amongst other things, it said that all Cayenne models now come standard with 3 years warranty, and the surround view camera system. Yet the UK configurator states the following two extracts on the 'standard features' linky.
ParkAssist (front/rear) with visual and acoustic proximity warning.
and...
Base price:
£ 48,793.00
Price for equipment:
£ 1,109.00
Total Price:*
£ 49,902.00
So...clearly no surround view mentioned there, the normal reversing camera is still a £446 option...
and the base price clearly states £48793 as the base price, with an extra £1109 for the 3rd year cover with breakdown.
Anybody else had the same thing? And which is correct, the sales email or the configurator.

I have 1st one, "not that it matters", but no one knows any thing about the 360d cameraAmongst other things, it said that all Cayenne models now come standard with 3 years warranty, and the surround view camera system. I know the new Touareg has the 'area view' 360 camera as a £920 option. Would be strange if they didn't offer it on the Cayenne too.APOLO1 said:
bit to the left, I had a blast in a RR SVR Sport last week......Moves the game on......think 458 meets Cayenne....
Mmm. Probably moved the game on until the facelift Cayenne Turbo stuck it's head out. So much so, JLR have had tor clarify their 8 minutes 14 seconds Nurburgring Nordchleife lap time for the RRS SVR; it now says on their website that this is “one of the fastest times ever recorded by a standard production SUV”, instead of categorically being THE fastest. And this is before the Turbo S hits the streets. Interesting nontheless.

Article is entirely as pointless as the lap times (and the cars), but the SVR is supposedly a second quicker around the 'Ring than the Macan Turbo.so are they still no better? I had RR for over 20 years, then in 2010, just could not put up with 3 times a week to the dealer. I know the head of SVO, he assures me that these are sorted, "hand built by west midland's finest"
Had 5 Cayenne's from 2010, over 100k miles, all that's gone wrong was a broken washer jet on one, have a new 4.2 next month, but there is just something about the Sport SVR.....
One thing I can never work out though, I know a lot of RR owners in the desert, they never have or hardly have a single prob......strange...
