The 74 3.0 RS is beginning to fetch some serious money.

I think they are rarer than the 2.7RS, and only now becoming more popular.

I have not seen one under £125,000, and the red one below is more than £150,000.

Examples here :

MMM nice.

I think 109 were made, give or take one or two. (finned 917 brakes mmmmmm)

were there any road legal 935's? if so they must fetch a pretty packet?

There was suposidly only one it was made for Mansur Oje the owner of TAG maclaren. at the time Maclaren were running the 1.5 litre TAG Turbo(porsche) in there F1 cars this made him a good porsche customer i guess. It was red and for sale for circa £100k but IIRC had 500bhp!

I thought Ojeh's car was silver?

Anyway, back in 1986 when I bought my first 911, for my £6k I had the choice of:-

Aston DB5
Ferrari 246
Carrera 2.7RS lwt
BMW 3.0CSl (not the Batmobile)
Austin Allegro 1750 vdp

I bought a 1978 SC Targa...and sold it on to a trader 6 months later for just over £9k

Who'd pay £150k for an exceptional 2.7RS? I guess that Bill Taylor's car might fetch that kind of cash if it was restored back to original spec (perhaps his sons already have - last time I saw it, it was metallic red IIRC) but then that's on account of it having a famous owner.

The Ojeh car -very much a hand built. Only 370bhp at 0.8 bar. Not legal inGermany due non-standard spec!! Interior leathered and walnu dash. Allegedly cost DM 280,000 in '83 -do the sums from there....

H von Karajan? The conductor? (And not of buses). According to Boschen and Barth's 'Porsche Specials', Count Rossi did Stuttgart to Paris in eight hours at a average of 9.41mpg -that's .41 mpg better than my Cup Car Car based on arko/Larrousse 917 -first racing Porker with ABS.

That Ducktails really weird ,obviously did nt exist till at least '72 but never seen one on 'r' before .The guys that run this Classisc car place are abt the most expensive in Europe ,re pricing, but do have some genuine kit .

Apparently it IS the conductor. Sorry to confuse. He has a bit of a Porker collection.

Count Rossi had the 917 bilt for him and drove it around Alabama -yee ha!!
