Tricky question! Had more fun in the Spyder and was faster than the Lotus on the day but it wasn't perfect weather for the 211... I'll have another rematch when the track temp is higher I think!
On the other hand a roof, radio and warranty is still tempting me to sell!
....A Porsche Only Day - Non-Porsche cars will not be permitted on track for this event!...On the other hand a roof, radio and warranty is still tempting me to sell!
That may help your decision!!

I think the Catheram was like a hare in a hunt, he was let out to blood the dogs. It's a Porsche only day and always has been.
Major the only change for next year is that the irish and scottish need to show there passport as well as there driving licence😄.On a seriouse note we worked hard over the years to get a porsche only day, although the caterrhams were well behaved a few people had a moan,as the attraction to our day is its porsche only.

Thread running on 911uk which also suggests that many participants don't actually get out on track. I've been a spectator at several of these events and it's free to watch. Why pay to take part and just not bother?
I think that there is a disconnect between perception and reality with that. Certainly you have to remember that only about 50 or so cars are actually booked on the day and there are usually about 2-3 times that number of porkers in attendance (a lot of people drive up for a bit of a social gathering so the event is to some extent a car meet for the Porsche track day crowd rather than purely about turning laps). Over the last couple of years I have noticed that while it is correct that there is a small subset that are doing most of the laps for most of the day, pretty much all of the cars booked on the day do go out at some point (unless they fail the noise test, which does happen). The giveaway is the queues for getting noise tested and the initial surge on to the circuit at the start of the day (pretty much everything is on there at some point in the first hour). Then it thins out a bit.Note that being Oulton, everyone from the South has a fairly long drive home and a lot do leave by mid afternoon. Also you have to remember that a fair few of the cars are old and some have got frighteningly valuable so there are drivers who go on the day for little more than a beginning of season shake down (of the machine and the driver) rather than going for the all out track day hero experience (all of which for the most part results in a generally polite and comparatively low stress driving experience).
Does it matter what the guys do with there time on the track day,if they pay the money they please themselfs not the public!!
We also encourage ddk and the like to come along to view or even better participate, and normaly help raise some funds for a chosen charity through passenger laps.
