This stuff is good, nice and black, not noticeable from a distance unlike that shiny cheap looking plasterer's mesh stuff. Nice and stiff yet you can trim with a pair of scissors.
Bit fiddly to fit - I drilled a few holes and used very small cable ties - all out of sight of course, behind the bumper.

gfreeman,
Any pics of your handywork?
I was actually thinking more about a specifically designed package to fill the holes as opposed to a DIY job. Someone like "Design911" or similar but they don't seem to do anything.
I'm sure this would be a great opportunity for somebody to develop an easy fit kit which I'm sure many 996 owners would go for.

grilles would be good, becasue what happens is that rubbish, leaves, birds and small children fly in here:
and end up in a compost state like this...euuughhh:
then you need to buy nice shiney new rads and condensors and fit them, so they look like this:
and then pop your air dams and PU back onto this nice spanking new cooling system - aqnd your car will run cooler, not leak and the A/C will work better!
hope this helps.
Cheers

I take it you remember by fiasco then Spencer...!
Doing it yourself with no primates in sight is the easiest way!
I had no bother getting the airlocks out.
Just filled her up with coolant and used the bleed valve. Needed a couple more top ups, but has been fine. That said I am used to bleeding Loti, which is a whole other ball game !!
Replacing the rads really isn't that hard if you know your way around a car and a toolset...not for the amateur DIY through probably.
I had a couple of leaking AC condensors, but took the opportunity to put 2 new rads on and give everything a good clean up and waxoyl. Hence the last shot looks do nice and clean! I was amazed with the shit on the rads / condensors to be honest.
Cheers
