Steve, I met a proud 996 TT owner a couple of weeks ago who'd just taken delivery of a yellow one with the "performance pack" - may or may not be the correct name - gave an extra 25 bhp or so - he had what I think were GT3 seats in the car. If you'd like, I can put the two of you together via e-mail to discuss his thoughts...he also owns a 340 R BTW

That'd be great, when he has a moment - my e mail: SadGit@SadGit.net (tell it how it is!)

Thanks

Steve

Steve, you should have had mail from my friendly 996 TT owner...ask him what the number plate is - made me laugh

Have heard - great plate - great car!

Not sure if he's getting my reply as it keeps getting bounced back.

Thanks for the contact. See you track sometime I hope.

Curiosity is killing me. I'm a numberplate junkie, I'm assuming this is a corker, Can either of you two email me and tell me what the plate is?

DAZ

PS - I met a guy in the late 80's who used to own the plate "THE 911" on a red turbo. Another Bristol guy recently had "THE 911S".

Daz... I think the plate might be more related to the owner than the car. Although I've not met him... he says he can't get in a Caterham and the plate includes 'FAT'

I just got X50 BHP - so I'm kinda committed now! (or should be)

Nice one Steve.

When I was at an auction a while ago (buying the plate now on my porker incidently) there was a silver 996 in the car park with the plate "F4TTY" which looked great.

I got rid of my 996TT in Dec, the best extra on it was the sports exhaust from G-Force Motorsport.

A must have in my book.

Thx

A couple of quickies -- though I couldn't run to the Turbo --- C4S will have to do for me.
1. Multichanger --- I was told this now has optical fibre connections and can only be fitted at the factory.
2. I reckon SatNav is expensive, inconvenient because it compromises the arrangement of other instruments, can be incomplete, immovable (on resale) and takes no account of current traffic conditions, accidents etc.
I have looked at SmartNav and for all the above, feel it's a superior option.
In my view the next logical development should incorporate a RoadAngel type system to deal with cameras --- both fixed and moveable --- because the database can be updated so quickly by the first SmartNav user to drive past .... !
Of course, the Porsche dealers do not like it.

Note. If I was a rep I would agree that any quality car should sell better with a Nav system, --- but on the track ?

Have fun !!!!

The sport seats (in my TT) are ok but my wife will not ride in the car for any period of time. The "wings" on the seat push her sholders forward and she finds them very uncomfortable.

Well Steve

small world - I saw you parking up X3GTR this morning at Waitrose Cirencester - I was in the Silver E class parked up over to your left waiting for the shop to open too !!

Your car looks the doggies....but shame on you, sitting in the car whilst letting your wife go off to do the shopping!!!

We must live close by - so I'll 'flash' you if I see you on the roads around Ciren.

Cheers Toby (Lapis Blue 996 TT - DC51TOD)

Dazren, try the key besides the zero. It should give you a proper apostrophe in a Spanish keyboard.

Toby

I saw your motor too - parked as I did with at least three empty places either side.

Mrs Get is a happy camper in the isles when I'm NOT in tow. (Besides, The Rugby was on Radio 5).

I'll look out for you.

Steve

I like the look of this one :

www.rennteam.com/upload/15588-ttpk1.jpg

from the Rennteam thread

www.rennteam.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=15588&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=93&fpart=1

Black (actually it's a very dark blue but looks black in the picture and I'd choose black), aerokit, X50 power, X73 suspension, SportTechno wheels part painted in black.

If I was buying a new one today I think this is what I'd probably order.
