996 C2 - Reset computer 4 weeks ago when I bought it.
Averaging 24.9 mpg at present, but only one major motorway run out up to Shropshire and back. Wife currently tootling 5 miles there and 5 miles back from station on a daily basis, hence I'm sure it would be more - (sooner I find her a mini for daily use the better)!
Can't believe I bought a Porsche and am still keeping track of mpg!!
Mind, 996 doesn't have that stupid little gauge which the BMW did, the one that measures fuel consumption as you accelerate etc. - most useless piece of equipment (imho) ever put on a car !!!

6am drive to work - 14mpg
7am drive to work - 8mpg (The bugger just drinks petrol if its just crawling)
Motorway - 23mpg, assuming 80-90 most of the way, with the odd heavy foot

the ONLY downside to tip ownership. As previous post I am now starting to use it in manual mode, wonder if the MPG will go up?

Nope, I only drive mine in M and it still really slurps. Just getting the OBC turned on while I'm having an oil leak fixed so I will actually be able to see the true horror.

Sorry O/T but is the OBC turning on a simple (read inexpensive) job and do you need to add additional parts ie. some kind of control lever/button.

Not when I can't get anywhere near that

Sure your Tip isn't broke & only lets you use 3 gears??

Easy if you're handy at DIY.

You need your local OPC/indie to turn it on first, all 996's have all the software, but it's not enabled unless you order the OBC.

Then you get the control stalk (apparently you buy the four lever one and cut off one stalk as the part is cheaper) and fit it.

I'll have a link to the hack at home somewhere which I'll try to remember to post up later.

Once you enable it you get outside temp display even without the switch/stalk being fitted as long as you have A/C.

i get around 21.5 overall on my 996TT.

On a recent trip to france i ran seriously low on fuel and managed to squeeze 59.7 litres into it, must have been running on fumes.

That's the switch method. I've also got a link somewhere to the method of doing it with a three stalk control exactly as if it was factory fitted.
