SOLD MY SILVER CAR !!... as all the panels are bolted on so its quite a easy job)!! you cant judge the price of these cars based on the 23,000 mile car as its a totaly differnt car from a 2 or 3000 mile car !!!!!!!!

You may want to put a bit of lube on your keyboard. The exclamation point appears to be sticking.

Flemke, I guess you've completed a fair few track & road miles in your Carrara GT, perhaps you could give us an insight into the durability/ running costs of the car.

Big difference but their are different people for different cars.... some want a zero mile car to add to a collection of "art" which will never be used. There is always a person for the cheapest car on the market as it represents value and you wont feel bad to add to the miles and track it.

Someone mentioned colour change. Does anyone know how much a colour change costs on a CGT by Porsche?

GUYS !
its not a matter of more money than sense . a del milage car and a 23,000 mile car are world,s apart at this level of car millage and condition is paramount ! (as for the colour change £10,000 ish )!!!

Mine's done about 7,000 miles, something like that, including about 40 laps of Nordschleife and 15 laps of Hockenheim.
Nothing so far has needed replacing, so I couldn't say much about running costs.
The brake rotors are almost like new. Everything feels tight.
I'd say that, if anything, the car needs a lot more miles before it will feel run-in.

Running costs may not be such a issue, you can buy wheels cheaper than porsche,or fit bbs.
Discs can be retro fitted/converted
Engines and gearboxes, well at the end of the day it is only a car.Everything can be fixed, yes parts will be expensive, but i am sure it will be worth it.
I think these car will do 100k miles easy,a v10 that is very understressed, and dont let a hotrodder/tuner mess with it,and i am sure it will give you good service.
Even the clutch is no big deal to change.
Expensive part is road tyres ,rears are 350 each,
Even insurance is not bad at £1400
The only reason i have sold my 993gt2 road car,is to replace with a gt at some point, but only when they have settled in the market place,i dont like loosing the hard earned!I am sure there will be good low miles cars about, but i agree with JW,with these type of cars its best to get a good one if you can.
JW you should not be smoking in the gt,its bad for your joints!!
Vic you dont want to get second gear in one of these hey!

That's fair enough, but it does not mean that you lack any vested interest in pitching things a certain way.

Fancy the need to try and 'brag' about what you turnover JWB!

No need to turn an interesting thread into a pissing competition.
