So how'd you avoid constant revs on a motorway - which i'll be bringing mine back on the day of collection?

At motorway speeds, in 6th gear it isn't a problem, because at those rpms you're not creating hot spots.
If you could manage it, it would be better if the first - whatever - 100 miles were not on the motorway, which shouldn't be a problem, right?

I live in Blackburn and am getting my GT3 from Kendal. It's a 50 miles trip home down the M6 then M65.
I'm going to drive it from the showroom up the A6 to the top of Shap for some lurvly phots then was going to go back down the M6.
I suppose i could always travel back south down the A6 or as Clubsport says - change a few gears on the M'way.

That car, those roads, and you're taking the Motorway???

A65, A682, A59

Am not familiar with the A6 but, judging from the map, it looks like a speed camera theme park.

Swap between 3rd, 4th 5th & 6th every now and then! Of course you could just avoid the motorway!!!

Took a 100 mile or so detour on back roads initially then joined main motorways all way to tunnel. Broke journey with an overnight stop at a favourite hotel in Troyes. On motorway varied cruise between 3000 to 5000 (4000 = 100mph in sixth) and cruised in 4th, 5th or 6th. Had occassional squirt up to 7000 or so but only briefly - not holding it there. I really think this is all for own piece of mind - the motor has been bench run for one and a half hours before you get it anyway and I'm sure if you went straight to the 'Ring and thrashed it it would be fine - in fact the Porsche insurance included in the factory collect package covers you for that! Frankly I think brand new MSCs and brakes should be the things that limit your enthusiasm for the first few miles anyway.
