confused

that makes no sense

great pics by the way
No, it didn't make sense to me either. But talking about it in depth to the owner I think the project ran away with itself and what he finished with wasn't what he had in mind when he started.

Sounds like a load of bks to me.

Also, his guage states "Turbo" instead of "GT2":

Also I was thinking no-one on their right mind would destroy a GT2 CS lol When you can buy a comfort model!!!! Also I dont think anyone would change the rear of their GT2 for the turbo's rear end??????

Oh FFS, who cares?

Typical PH that a thread celebrating a bunch of 911's doing what they were built for turns into a slagging session of someone's car rolleyes

Too much excitement on the trip perhaps fogging the memory ? He probably said it had some GT2 bits on it ?

No-one is "slagging", but some of us are interested beyond the majority PH of "how much is my car worth" crap

Thats how i viewed it though does not make any sense:-

GT2.
Sent to RUF to make it faster.
..and put rear seats in (and the leather / SatNav / aircon)
..and change the rollcage for a removable one
..and something (the two lines above I think) that necessitated it having a Turbo body put on.

It was a standard 2 seater GT2, now has 997TT bumpers, exhaust,Alloys & Sills + an aero Spoiler, rear seats were added and finally has a removable roll cage?

Dont want to argue with anyone but its a 997TT with aero spoiler and a paint job, maybe has some RUF tuning done.

try reading the thread. no one has slagged off anything. it's not exactly suprising people want to know more about a lairy looking 'turbo' 911 is it?

I think everyone thinks its great they had a good trip and like you said using their cars as they should be used. TBH it aint a big issue but it is interesting to find out more about the gt2 that in everyway looks like a turbo which is kind of baffs a few of us thats all, so where is all the slagging lol

No, I'm not. How can you misinterpret someone saying they bought a GT2 and modified it that much. I like the occasional beer, but not THAT much smile

Hi everybody,
Well in Pikey's first set of pictures that's my blue Cayman on the way down the Puy Mary.
I thought it was a bunch of PHers hooning through Europe and it seems I was right.

Awesome!

Hello wavey

As you went past I said I bet you were a PHer and if I popped up the pic you'd appear biggrin

What I also said was how unusual it is for a Cayman to have the PCCB option. Did you spec yours or were they on when you had it? Bloody good option to have on those passes anyway smile

Well Hi back. I saw you rush to take the picture in my mirrors. How comes you guys picked the Auvergne as part of the trip. Not obvious but great roads.
The PCCB were on when I got it. Seems it was specced for a Porsche GB manager. With the wife in the car they never go a proper work out really but when they did they were great. The funny thing about them is when you pull into a town having had them heat up and then cool down they squeak like a London bus. Not quite the image people have of Porsches but I kind of like it.

Saw you coming the other way - I was driving the yellow GT3 wavey

The Puy Mary pass was possibly the highlight of the trip - going up it was utterly mesmerising. You could have cooked an egg on my tyres when we reached the summit biggrin

If it had the full treatment at Ruf it would have the Ruf wheels on which it clearly does not

I think he said he visited RUF to make it go faster, not look different.

As explained above, the owner told me that he put different wheels/tyres on for this trip.

I'm the messenger here - don't shoot me!
