Does anybody use Swiftcover Insurance?

Because I chose to use Europa Consultants to handle it, who were excellent btw, and had a Porsche hire for the entire period the car was off the road. Wouldn't have normally, but the woman was so stupid and personally why should I be without a car, or have to go through my insurers etc. I did discuss it with my insurers and they had no issue on my approach.
Thanks - that's interesting & I'll bear in mind if I find myself in similar situation. Have used Swiftcover since they started and have always found them very good in terms of customer service, good website and if you have to, an intelligent voice on the end of the phone. They quoted me £340, 120 less than next best quote (QUIKFIT) but required a Tracker which cancelled out the benefit. Interestingly, the policy I took with Quikfit was underwritten by Aviva (or Norwich Union as us oldies would know them!) and was exactly the same policy wording that other online and telephone brokers were offering for up to £200 more! Moneysavingexpert.com has a good system to get the best insurance deal, but you have to allow for an hour or so of screen scraping.
Apparently, swift cover now have a clause stating if you want to use your own insurer, you now have to pay a further excess.
J-P, as regards my p&i, some tit opened their car door against mine so hard it dented the body. Luckly, they admitted liability and I had a 60 plate carrera S PDK to run around in while in the body shop!

I was hit in a minor way by a swiftcover insured person in my old BMW 550. It was a heavy scrape along the side which resulted in a new rear wing and bumper. They provided me with a Range Rover, 2 years old for the weekend I had no car and were very good for my insurance company to deal with. If you are happy with the 1k excess I don't think you will have any problems - obviosuly I don't know how they were in dealings with the ir own customer. Sounds like a good deal

i've been using swiftcover since they started
i only insure my family sheds with them but they are fantastic
first of all they will share my wifes bonus across both cars
premiums are around £150 per annum per car
i can control it all online
when i change cars i can just change the vehicle online
just a great system and works for me so well
I just wish they would insure performance cars as well
Not sure id insure ant expensive Pork with them though. For proper cars I always use Competition Car insurance who are dead cheap, a small bespoke service with real people you know by name, and you get 5 free trackdays with each premium.

Hi all,
What are your views on Swift cover in 2014? Are they still reliable? Been reading some reviews at http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews92494.html and http://www.insurersreviewed.co.uk/car-insurance/sw... for example, and it seems a lot of people are less than satisfied. What are your thoughts? Anyone had any good experiences in 2014?

Swift cover have a clause which says they will only pay upto the same quote as there approved repairer if you take it to your repair centre. Generally and I have heard this off someone in the business that if you say want your Audi/Porsche etc dealing with properly you would want to take it to a decent approved workshop not a quick in and out place at £25hr....
You pay your money and take your choice. I'd use Swift cover for a beater etc but never for say a 911.

Personally had issues with them double insuring me. That is they quietly renew my original insurance on an autorenewal and allow me take out a new insurance for the same thing and don't bother telling me.
As others have mentioned they are not great with recording information. It took over a year to finally get incorrect information removed from the claims database against my name for a car I don't own, wasn't driving at the time and wasn't in the incident.
Not recommended - also only record 5 years ncb - anything above this is recorded as 'or more'
