Awesome value,
Would i be daft in parting company with a rare GT2 for one?
Long term i would probably regret it i guess.................er yes i would.
Sorry for the lack of knowledge but why is the 996 GT2 rare when there are 12 avalible in the classifieds?Would i be daft in parting company with a rare GT2 for one?

Yes, your GT2 looks epic!Is it hard work compared to a 996 turbo or you just have to be lighter on the loud peddle!
It also has some of the old school feel about it due to no driver aid's (not sure whether thats a good thing sometimes mate!)
Its more of an event which suits me as a weekend tool, its also a bit wasted on a novice driver like me to be honest though.
Its rarity and looks though are something else and something special to behold.

Going back to the thread a friend of mine bought a 57 plate 997 Turbo yesterday with very low mileage , 1 owner etc for £50,700. Now my car is circa 48,000 hard driven miles in a much more difficult colour to look after but I promise you if you put both cars next to each other and compare both the interior and exterior everyone would say my car is the lower mileage car. I don't doubt the mileage on his car is genuine but it makes a big difference on condition if you do simple things like wash your car properly once a month and feed the leather etc. Also his car has had 2 services ie every 2 years as per manufacturers recommendation and mine 4 ie every year and I swear mines a bit quicker!

Spot on.I've seen mint leggy cars, in fact my GT2 is leggy but if you drove it and saw it you wouldn't believe it, its all about how you care for them.
I can see £45K around Feb next year. But £45k is a lot of money to buy on price over quality. Have been watching a steady increase dropping in at the £49K value. JZM sold a 996 Turbo S which was up at £36K. I was tempted. A few months ago I would not of thought a 996 turbo S comming in at that price.
So I made a very solid comment about selling my car and the topic thread and just cos I put a link to my car which is no different to the link above it gets deleted. The classic is apparently no ads in forums!!! So wtf is the link above all about!!
Pistonheads.....you have lost it....and as Duncan says...I'm out!

They deleted my post as well! Pistonheads.....you have lost it....and as Duncan says...I'm out!
I thought you'd complained because I'd said this car (which isn't mine)would sell quicker if it was £40k.

Who knows? Could have been fixed for all we know. I'm always very suspicious about very low mileage cars in less than showroom condition. You're right its impossible to tell for sure as it's a one owner car and who knows what the first owner has been up to. On quick inspection of his new car I noticed a worn drivers sports seat, handbrake which looks like a dogs chewed it, small crack in speedo cover, destroyed drivers side kick plate, metallic rattling on start up from rear on a car with less than 20,000 miles. All of these items look new in my car. Didn't have the heart to say anything but that I thought it was really nice car. There seems to be many 06 and 07 turbos for sale both at traders and privately with very low mileage indeed. It would not surprise me if many of these cars have had their "mileage corrected". Difficult to tell though as my friends car drove very well.

The catch is that it's too expensive for what people are willing to pay for. It has been on sale for 13 days.Other car is up in Glasgow and been on sale for 7 days.
It is all well and good pricing your car at XXX but if it hasn't sold in 2 weeks people are not willing to pay for it. And the fact that it is October and people are waiting for Jan/ Feb buys...
