Porsche Rolling road II

If I were you i'd ring up GF and speak to them yourself. They use the dyno for everything from 935's to GT1's. John who owns the place is a GT racing driver and ran his team through the facilities at GF (AFAIK).

Clubsport, I haven't bought the car yet, its subject to it checking out at a main dealer-hopefully this weekend.
If it's down on power-so be it, I guess, It'll get the usual once over at a main dealer which doesn't cover any output verrification or even a compression check I don't think. I don't drive my cars hard really, and you could well argue "Why buy a Turbo if you don't use the performance?"- but cars are all things to all people, I like to behold it as a piece of engineering excellence.
Ian Dorrian, I was more interested in meeting up with fellow enthusiasts anyway.

Seriously..be careful of a main dealer inspection..they check the cigar lighter works and how soon until you need to change the wipers.
i had a 80 odd point check carried out at an OPC by the previous owner of my car...close to worthless!
They don't check anything to do with the engine compression, driveshafts, condition of front diff coupling etc....unless you have a seperate arrangement with the OPC over and above the standard 80+ point check, I would seriously take it to a decent specialist who has a better understanding of these cars.
Good luck...hope it comes through ...

Yes, steer clear of the OPC's. I've just received a £250 refund from my service on my TT because the standard of work was so appaling. Forgetting to change the G/Box oil was one of many problems.
Can you mail me off list which OPC this was. I'm about to get mine serviced (August) and don't want to take somewhere so errr...forgetful. But I do want / need that OPC stamp for my service record / warranty.
Cheers, Steve, 996TT
Let's just say it's in Kent and you can also puchase Audi's.
I was very keen to keep the FPSH up on my 993 turbo, but it's not worth the ink in the stamp as far as i'm concerned.
Not only was G/box oil forgotten, the fan belt was not tightened up which lead to an enourmous amount of smoke pouring into the cabin through the heaters, followed by a break down on the M25 (battery died). I won't bother mentioning failing to know the difference between a RMS leak and timing cover leak, broken alternator (during removal £750 thank you) and two connectors left without a mate.
Shall I also forget to mention fullalignment which left the steering wheel more pissed than it was to begin with? No, better not.
Do yourself and your nerves a favour and take it to Parr motorsport where you won't get some 16 year old juggling your spark plugs before cross threading them into your heads at an additional cost of £5K.

Well looks like the current owner can't book it in anywhere for the inspection/service before the long weekend of mine at the end of the month- so it won't be changing hands to me before then anyway. So much for turning up to meet you guys...
I also can't get hold of the lock up agency I need to book...and I'm not about to leave it out on the street among the incredibly ignorant, jealous and bitter meanderthile parasites around here! So more time is needed....
More time to covet I suppose, I could buy a 993 Broshure...in the meantimes I suppose...

Guy / Guys,
Yep all systems go (although I’ll ring G-Force Friday afternoon to check everything is still working).
But by way of a quick reminder, Rolling Road II Saturday May 29th (THIS Weekend) at G-Force in Aylesbury. It's going to be £50 per car but that includes a pre-run fluid check (plus disconnection of 4WD for 993TT owners). Hopefully we should start around 9:00am.
This is the current list. A few people have dropped out (because of other commitments) but a couple of new faces will be joining us. If your not on the list or I've got your details wrong drop me a mail.
1-Steve Earp (996 Turbo), Blue 996TT. (FREE)
2-Barry Jeddo (BarryJ), Red 993TT. (FREE)
3-Ian Dorrian (Ian-Dorrian), Red 993C4S. (FREE)
4-Alan Friedman (Aceparts-com), Red 993TT. (FREE)
5-Felix Klauser (Phelix), Silver 993TT. (FREE)
6-Gerry Gibbins (911Habbit), Blue 996TT. (FREE)
7-Guy Ratcliffe (GuyR), ???? 996GT2.
8-Cyrus (Cyrus1971), Black 996TT
I know there are still a few possible(s) plus Chris said he may contact a few of his customers directly. But anyone else who fancies coming along just drop me a mail with Name, Pistonheads ID, Car, Colour, year.
This is the link for the G-Force address / map / contact details.

Ran my GT2 on the rollers, with Chris from G-Force's usual excellent professional help and friendly chat and got the following:
373bhp at the rear wheels, 459bhp at the flywheel (conversion calculation) ie pretty much spot on what Porsche quote at 462bhp...........
Proves the car works as expected.
Nice to see a few of the guys there, although numbers were relatively small (about 8 cars or so).
Chris gave us a very interesting short talk over all the cars in their workshops, which includes Gemballa GT600, Kremer 935, GT1 and others - real serious machinery.
