Great days indeed! Although if I think back I cannot believe the distances we travelled on the bikes. Pure torture on sports bikes. The trips were much simpler and more basic they were so much more rewarding. We zip about in our tin boxes on roads like the N260 but the experience is so much better on bike. Having said that I would never compromise on the fact that a car is so much practical on a trip like this. So glad I had the opportunity to ride bikes in the South of France and Italy, pure pleasure and the general attitude to bikers compared to the UK was a revelation.
Absolutly, but the one thing that used to drive me crazy was the fuel stops ........ Dukes, tank range anybody? 90 miles and me mate got the Ducati 1000 yd stare. Desperatly searching out a petrol station. One thing a car can do better is the tank range.
Good to meet you Dan (so to speak), great to follow this thread, we have been very lucky to be able to do the things we do, and Southern Europe = Biking/Car Nirvana, and long may it continue..
Sorry to have hijacked your thread a little and got onto bikes. All the best.

not at all. Totally relevant, especially if the thread is moved or copied to the Roads section as "Oi U" mentioned. Which is a good idea. We can at least paste a large portion of the content. Sorry to have hijacked your thread a little and got onto bikes. All the best.
Day 7 - Update
Boo, it seems EMI blocked the video due to music copyright infringement. Corporate greed by the music industry strikes again. It works if I am signed into YouTube but that may just be because I uploaded it.
Update 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HF3DPaOMNxI&fea... This link seems to work.
Can anyone else confirm they hear Johnny Rotten 30 seconds into the video?

Damn ................... I miss Spain.
I go in late spring or early autumn because of the weather. (Sometimes both). Lucky the weather wasn't to bad for you, it can be a nightmare still at this time of year.
Chuffed you did it Dan, and glad you drove it. Video (with music) working fine now.

Wow, I didn't realise he was involved with Leftfield too. Always associated him only with the Sex Pistols.
...and Country Life Butter It's a great song, and anti-establishment, so in synch with his Sex Pistols roots. The butter adverts, well...
