Lithium battery....

I've been using the Ctek Lithium XS charger to keep it conditioned via cig lighter, which seems to work fine. I note some words about "under voltage protection" that can disconnect communication between the battery and charger, has anyone experienced that?
Read this elsewhere: not sure if this helps?

There are no worries about damaging the battery from excessive discharge because it has built in technology that shuts it down when it senses it's charge is getting too low.

Lion battery has a number of other advantages. More details here: http://press.porsche.com/news/release.php?id=510

New Lion battery is 40Ah vs 70Ah for standard battery, so quite a bit more powerful than old Lion battery (vs 997 Gt3rs option) and the new AGM battery.

It's being done at Porsche reading. My white car was sent there and never even road registered. It was then totally stripped except the dash and carpets to a colour I created. I hVe not fully finalised my design. I have having a few vinal options made next week to look at on the car. Once decided reading have to strip the car again and paint the livery,

Thanks - that's what I call commitment to resolving an average set of standard colours - very impressed !

Realise it's none of my business , but , FWIW , I think the over body stripe decal in tricky as the width of the bonnet / roof grove is significant and as such overcar stripes either look lost or if widened to fill the gap , they then look too wide - I imagine ?? Now in reality it may look great so getting Rick to mock up various iterations is a good idea : I guess it's the only real way to work it out - good luck with it R smile

Woppum. I don't know you but I wish I did. You are completely mad but this is the best thing anyone has posted about the GT3RS in the last 6 months. Fantastic.

Haha what a lovely thing to say. I considered all options and I decided to go totally my own way. I went though throwback log of Porsche colours but the sad matter of fact is the paint game has moved on massively in the last few years. Porsche reading are doing the job. The same guys that look after my 918 and all the Cgt , gt1 etc etc. No one is more equipped. The design of the car is done by Matteo Giles an incredible car designer responsible for some of the worlds most special unique cars. I met him at a party and when I told him I have a 599 GTO he said btw I designed that lol. We turned good friends quickly then decided to have a go at this project. There was no risk for me. I know the car drives great and I knew I could make it more exciting than out the box. This project is not just about the end result. It's about the planning, designing and the managing of the project. I'm not sitting back and letting everyone get on with it. I save a little time of every day to make sure things are happening right. So exciting and more than that.... A lot of fun!

It all depends on what happened regarding the livery. I hope I have made enough choices with Rick to decide which one to paint. Anytime between end of March and end of April. Reading really are cracking on so I'm hoping the earlier the better

It will be on track as soon as its run in. Got a lot planned with her this year. Very interested to see which is faster this or the Speciale.

Somewhere in a thread years ago I asked about the feasability of doing this , your own PTS done by a quality painter as here but you all said no it would devalue my car. Seems I was right after all, IMHO it would be a very good ay to get you very own PTS. I'd love to have my 991 RS in Rubystone Red.

I think the cost involved in doing that by Porsche such as woppum is doing would be nearly as much as the car was to start with - prohibitive to 99% of owners I would think!

Has anyone driven an RS on steels yet? Just wondering if PCCB is a 'must have' given most people have specced it.

We were given a price of £15k for that job by Porsche i.e an engine out full repaint. Still tempted to do it and given the right colour, I reckon it would hold the value.

strangely I want to see some 1-2-1 track battles against the Chevvy. Looks like the Chevvy has the legs on the RS.

That's about right for just a paint job in normal paint
