The 987 Cayman had rather better steering feel than the Boxster IMO so it's reasonable to expect them to differ slightly again, and hopefully with the same results. But we can't know for sure until we try one.And most observers have opined that the steering feel in the 981, while not actually bad, is a step back in finesse from the 987.
As an aside, I stepped off a kart track last night at 8pm into my 991 and the difference in steering feel between the kart and my cab was night and day. Felt like I was on an ice rink. But perhaps I was: roads were ungritted and -1.
I'm looking forward to trying the 981c. I've got two teenagers and the occasional back seats in the 911 will remain useful until my eldest diappears to college. But I loved my 07 Cayman S and would go back in the future. To me, at least, (sorry Boxster owners) it trumps its sister for looks, handling and exclusivity. Pity about those rear lights though - too friendly to the Asian consumer, and a step too far from its roots. IMO of course.

what's painfull is the lack of BHP having less than the outgoing Cayman R ;-(
a 350BHp Cayman would be a nice sweet spot and some thing worth my 70k to upgrade to
but as it stands rather have a 45k Cayman R and 25k in my pocket.
Is 20bhp worth £15k? I don't think so. The R variant will be some years off and if you factor a stripped out version with the current S weight savings, your power to weight ratio should be better so I can't see them adding a substantial amount of additional power when the time comes. a 350BHp Cayman would be a nice sweet spot and some thing worth my 70k to upgrade to

Be interesting to see what the bodykit looks like or if they introduce an additional bodykit. I've never really been blown away by the rear wing on my R but it's hard to see how a newer iteration of the design won't be very similar.

A bit Aston, TT, 370z?
I see TT in there too in the back half of the car, especially from the rear. The change to the curve of the tailgate is a bit like Gen1 TT to Gen2 TT, where Audi took the curve all the way to the back. The Gen2 even has the lines of the end of the tailgate lining up with the lights.None of this to sound rude or detract though - it's a great looking car. And I'd rather it had a little feel of TT here and there than, say, an MR2.
Looks great in the pics and I'm sure it will be an absolute stunner in the flesh.
