I'm selling mine for the opposite reason - I don't get to drive it fast enough!
(Plus my house is filling up with water and I need to spend some money to put a stop to that).
Having it detailed on Monday, and looking forward to driving it and it looking perfect.
I noticed it in the ads a couple of days ago. Do you think we'll see you in number 4 soon?(Plus my house is filling up with water and I need to spend some money to put a stop to that).

Good luck with that. I'm going to sleep on mine over the weekend.

Overtakes on double whites is giving away points when it could be easily avoided.
Virtually any car will exceed speed limits, but you can still break traffic laws just as easily in a knackered old banger as being in a fast Porsche, Ferrari etc.
In hindsight I'll be the first to admit it was a stupid thing to do. At the time it was a totally safe manouvre but if I'd known I was going to pull out in perfect syncronicity to a traffic officer handily waiting in a lay-by I would have remained behind Mr.Slow Virtually any car will exceed speed limits, but you can still break traffic laws just as easily in a knackered old banger as being in a fast Porsche, Ferrari etc.

Again you're totally right about being able to lose your license in any car but I maintain that it's much more likely in something which begs to be driven (like a Porsche) than in many other cars. The Spyder just feels like a coiled spring most of the time

I think it ruins the car, hence even my new daily cayman r had to be manual.
Makes you lazy and offers no enjoyment imo.
As that is the future there is plenty of time to go auto.
Not having to depress the clutch pedal makes you lazy? I loved the manual Spyder but I think the PDK actually offers more enjoyment and a sense of occasion - if you're pootling around I'd go for the manual but I definitely think you can make quicker progress in the PDK. Makes you lazy and offers no enjoyment imo.

I had a 981 PDK loaner for 3 days when the battery was being replaced on my old car and have another today as it happens. Even after 3 days with it I wasn't convinced. It takes a little time to feel at home with the PDK. Once you get it it's amazing!

Absolutely agree. Hated the spyder with pdk I test drove and in my opinion made the car boring. I felt totally disconnected from the drive.Makes you lazy and offers no enjoyment imo.

You are part of the driving experience with a manual and in a sports car I wouldn't want an auto.
I do think pdk is also popular because it does make things easy. Everything in life is being dumbed down to make things less effort, even if the task is simple to start with. Do people really need their wipers to be automatic when it starts raining and how hard is it to manually adjust your main beam when another car approaches.
I also don't think a pdk equipped spyder would be any faster than a well driven manual spyder on the road. People need to remember these are road cars. Hunting for tenths of a second in F1 is one thing, buying a pdk to shave some time off a lap on a track day is totally irrelevant or road use.
The satisfaction of heavy braking, completing a smooth heel n toe and powering through the corner will never be equalled by twitching my left fingers and a computer deciding things. Maybe some are deluded to think this new found efficiency is also a reflection in improved personal skills.
Manufactures love it for the increase in efficiency and a tidy profit margin when the box is ticked. The links to speed increases and F1 is all marketing gumpf. How many can actually notice the 0.2 sec faster 0-60 and just how many times do people actually use launch control?

Agree that a 0-60 of 0.something less is irrelevant, but PDK also feels totally relentless when you're going for it, because there's no pause in the power delivery. May not actually BE that much quicker, but it FEELS it.Btw, I bought manual, because that's what I prefer, but I totally 'get' the PDK thing.

Btw, I bought manual, because that's what I prefer, but I totally 'get' the PDK thing.
That's pretty much the way I feel - had the manual for 11 months and was uncertain how I'd get on with the PDK but it's seriously good! Btw, I bought manual, because that's what I prefer, but I totally 'get' the PDK thing.

You're probably in the best position to judge, but nonetheless it still comes down to personal opinion.Edited by m33ufo on Friday 3rd May 12:46
For what it's worth, it's impossible properly to get to grips with the capability of the PDK system on a short test-drive in my view.
