I think it depends on the car colour. A dark colour looks better with gold. A brighter colour might clash with gold. I have seen pics of cars in Speed Yellow with gold and it still looks nice but not as much as a slam dunk.

In 18 inch size on a 996/997 I think they could look great. The wheelarches and wheel sizes are pretty cartoonish in the past decade.

Just tell people that the previous owner fitted them and you are on the lookout for a more complimentary wheel.

In all seriousness, there are a lot of very poor, chavy looking wheels out there. Easy to buy and easy to make a mistake. Obtaining Wheels that really go with the vehicle apart from the manufacturers. Specified items is quite difficult. This isn’t just personal choice because even though you may love them, you may be the only one. Maybe it’s a bit like having an ugly child …

Generally, as manufacturers, go, they usually pick a pretty good wheel to go with their cars.
