Beetle beats Spyder black and blue.

Martin's (aka Beaver) car this morning. Thanks for bringing it around Martin - great colour combo.

Beautiful RS....just waiting for my endowment to mature (and the points on my license to reduce!) smile

Perfect Spyder weather - had a fantastic drive and a couple of spare mins for a few pics. The car really shows its curves in the sunshine.

Thanks. I do love the Spyder.

I liked the plate in silver on black but just drew too much attention smile

Very cool but somewhat attention-grabbing as you say.

You're welcome, and ditto re the Spyder. For a man that's had most of the iconic drivers' car, I reckon your next one should be another gt3 Rs.

Lovely looking car and cracking looking paintwork, what are you using to 'detail' it?

Also, my exhaust tips looks a fair bit more tarnished than yours, again, what are you using? I've tried Auto Finesse Mercury and some fine wire wool but I'm guessing I need something more agressive.

No massive secrets, it has just been kept clean and the tips not given a chance to tarnish. To be fair the tips were sparkling when I bought the car and I've just kept them in the same condition.

Personally I like Victoria Wax Concours for paintwork.

for what its worth - I have had my PDK Spyder for 2.5 years and have done 53,000 miles in it - its our only car and I LOVE IT!

PDK is amazing with paddles and "makes" the car - its bloody quick that's for certain.

Learn to drive the PDK box properly and its extremely rewarding and VERY involving indeed.

"Dumed down" . . . I don't think so!

Always a market for both cars, manual and PDK.
I just find them dull once you are over playing racing driver and paddle shift for a bit.
After that has worn off, you are left with far to little to do and the novelty wears off to a point most PDK owner then don't even use the paddles and just drive auto only.

Which is great in a normal Boxster, but in a Spyder !!! Porsche should have not made PDK even a option :-p

The speed thing is a mute point and 2/10ths of a second is not worth talking about, but does make sure you win any drag races lol.

I am happy in a way I had a 24 hours with a PDK car and 3 months with a DCT car, as it confirmed my Cayman R had to be manual and I was thinking about PDK, lucky escape.

I play "racing driver" EVERY mile and through EVERY corner - there is no other way to drive :-) . . . . is there?

Had a fantastic "spirited" drive this morning and a fantastic detail from Perfection Valet.
Swapped the badge on the boot to the "Spyder" only logo, got rid of any swirl marks and generally made the notion of selling it even harder to bear..

MrDemon, I wouldn't blame your dissatisfaction of your M3 on its DCT box, my old E90 M3 was a manual and rather boring. It's a great daily driver but not a particularly fun car - before that I had two M3 CSL's which were SMG (CSL's were all paddle shift) and suited the character of the car perfectly. Undoubtedly the CSL was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding cars I've ever driven. I'd class the Spyder similarly and for me PDK even more so.

Also took me a lot more than 24 hours to come to that conclusion. I love the manual but I love the PDK on the Spyder just a little bit more smile

Edit ... car looks lovely Beaver. Only a minor thing but the "Spyder" badge looks much better.
