Seriously gutted from London here!

I've just been informed that I didn't get a GT3RS 4.0 as my OPC are only getting 1 (Mayfair) and I was in fact number 5 on their list.

I find this really hard to believe as:-

I ordered it before they even knew it was planned let alone available

Have bought new from them every incarnation of the RS, ie

996 GT3RS
911 Carrera S
997 GT3
997 GT3RS Gen 1
997 GT3RS Gen 2

What really galls me is that I'm not a speculator but an enthusiast who uses them as they were designed around a track.

Last Porsche I EVER buy!

that's terrible. I'm feeling your pain...Maybe you should have asked if there was anyone else trying to reserve one when you first did. If there wasnt and you were told so then
that would make it even worse.

so how do Porsche decide who gets and who doesn't ? utterly stupid situation, totally avoidable if Porsche AG allocated more cars to the UK (we get 28 out of 600, hmmmm), so i would imagine in the past have been one of the biggest and most loyal markets for GT series cars. massive slap in the face that goes to prove just how s*** Porsche GB are at representing their customers.

Ive managed to secure one from a dealership i have never used before. But don’t quote me I think they base it upon when a deposit is received rather than the letter of intent. Hence why i paid them a deposit before the release date, i did the letter of intent when they had no clue about the car as it was just mere speculation. But i did before handing the deposit over ask them if they had any other interests or depositors registered, and they didnt.

But you were number 5 on their list so i would assume you would have no chance? Plus your OPC is in an area where there is a wad of cash to splash?

Sorry you didn’t get one though!

Hilarious - someone with enough poke to buy a car for £130k, coming across like one of those squealing brats at the supermarket checkouts, whose mummy won't let them have a chocolate bar !

Perhaps it's just me?

No its not just you .....

so 600 cars w/wide.....300 USA.....100 Germany .....200 for the rest of the world

Maybe 40 for China...... then the rest of Europe/Russia 60 ?

Middle East ....20 ? Aus/NZ....10 ?

It really doesnt leave a lot for GB and the rest of the world ....... so around 30 seems about right ?

Wouldnt people be very very annoyed if Porsche made more and more and ruined the rarity value ..... ( you would hate to see 3 on your road Im sure ...? or 5 on the way to work in London )

As far as Im aware Porsche GB never give cars to people who throw cash at them but try to sell the rare varients to enthusiasts ......

I for one hope these amazing cars are kept rare so I can enjoy seeing one every so often on the road and wish I was one of the lucky few ......

So to those who get one .....enjoy

No doubt that the current 3.8RS is a fantastic piece of kit. If the 4.0 is significantly better it will be epic. If lucky enough to get one I was going white but looking at the pics of LuckyP's black GT3 with silver BBS wheels I am beginning to have 2nd thoughts.
Tart. Forget the bloody colour of the wheels, Take off the air con, all of the other tarty bits and go on a diet. To get full fat, you need to go full thin.

Too many London lunches have turned you into a softie.

Now wake up, and cross off everything that doesnt make it go faster before its too late

You know i'm right Mr N..

Keep the aircon - otherwise if you are fat you will sweat buckets into the buckets.

PS. wheel resprays for colour change are cheap.

Why are we giving any to the Americans, same reason we are giving them to the Chinese, the own, or will own the world.

I believe the allocation was discussed between Obama and Cameron at the Number 10 BBQ, you lost a further two !

Why are they giving any to the Americans?
Yes, it's outrageous to let the Americans have any of this scarce British patrimony.

Because they are one of the few countries with good enough roads, and unlimited speed roads, and ... the Nurburgring. smile

Just because you class yourself as an 'enthusiast' does not give you the right to demand the car before any other client. Believe me, they will have far more clients spending far more than you do in Mayfair. How would you suggest they would feel if they have been overlooked ?.
