Buzzing. Just been told my OPC has been allocated another 4 cars so 4 that were down for 2016 cars have been moved to 2015 cars and I will be getting one of the 1st 2016 cars. Think I was originally 9th on the list so seems to make sense. Time to get on the configurator!

Heard nothing from mine. I'm 4th in line at the moment but currently my car will be 2016.

So have porsche increased production ? The car is sold out in most countries so any new allocations would only come from increased production. There is no indication that this is the case.
Or have Opc's been playing games ? 2 weeks ago I was at my opc and speaking to the dp,who told me apart from my car they actually had not allocated their other 3 cars ,so are they getting more cars or are they just finally sorting out the allocations and pretending they are getting more cars ?

It would be nice to have a definitive total number of UK cars for 2015 and 2016. Does anyone have any news?

Is it a case of more allocation or have some people pulled out which has brought people further down the line into play?

My dealer assures me there are no allocation build slots for "any models" beyond December 2015

I have been trying to get my December build moved to March 2016 but was told the above regarding 2016 buildsconfused

I emailed Solihull last night on the off chance that there might now be spare GT4 floating about! lol

"Unfortunately all the additional cars we are getting are allocated to the people who are on the waiting list and have placed a deposit.

Sorry we can't help this time."

Seems that there are "additional cars" being produced.............

The dealerships in Switzerland have received additional allocations for 2016 GT4 builds. I'm not sure how attractive this is for european buyers due to the weak Euro but you could walk into a swiss Porsche Zentrum and configure/order one today.

So production number shave increased for this year ,despite production issues with the gt4 and gt3rs ? It is very odd .

Got the nod from my dealer this morning too. Looking forward to properly hitting the configurator tonight!

Not clear if these are true 'additional' cars or allocation being brought forward from what was being estimated as coming in 2016.

My OPC has just e-mailed me to say they are contacting customers today who have given a LOI to make them aware the sale of the GT4 may go live tomorrow and customers will only have a small window of an opportunity to make a purchase.

They said the deposit level is £10,000, they require this the minute it's launched if not beforehand and still does't guarantee allocation (that is subject to Porsche and the Dealer Principal's prefered customers).
Sorry but that sounds ridiculous. Typical scare tactics in my eyes. Clearly the chaps at Porsche marketing know what they are doing. Bag as many deposits as possible to lock in customers with the rarity and a suggested "potential investment opportunity". And then the car is out, the floodgates open. See Cayman R launch. Many LOIs before the launch, many discounted cars sitting in the dealership months later.
I'm #2 on the LOI list for my dealer and will study the specs long and hard before making a decision.

Unlike back then the market now seems full of people that snap up anything that could be a potential future investment and in my opinion you're kidding yourself if you think that Porsche won't try to cash in on that. I hope I'm wrong.

Yeah that sounds right. I don't have a build slot as people say. His exact words were that they have been allocated 4 more cars and that I will be getting one. He indicated that the new 4 are going to be 2015 cars and thats why the 2016 guys have been moved to 2015 cars. He did say I am definitely getting a car though. As it is so far away he said it's not necessary to lock in spec until probably September though and there is no need to increase my deposit from 5k. Whether this is the truth of what happened or if someone dropped out or whatever I don't know. I was told about a month ago that they could not tell me if I would get a car or not and that I should leave my deposit down until September when they would give me a definitive yes or no. However, yesterday he gave me the good news so it certainly seem's that something has changed.

Probably I have nothing official down with Porsche regarding a build etc. but within the dealership they plan to give me one of the 2016 build slots once they can. Bit of background on my current car. I bought a brand new 981 Cayman S when they first came out. It was very well specced. It was my first Porsche though so I'm not sure how far the theory of you having to be a longtime customer having bought many cars to be considered for GT's. Feeling lucky!!
