it still looks like an egg.
from the brochure 'titanium exhaust reduces load over the rear axle for improved driving dynamics'
I've another idea for them - move the f***ing engine forwards!!! That'll do wonders for your load over the rear axle and therefore your driving dynamics.
Sadly the Cayman has been a flop. I think it was another attempt by Porsche to develop something that could replace the dreadful 911. As ever (and despite Porsche's best efforts like the 928, 944, 968) you lot just won't stop buying the damn things.

One man's meat is another man's poison.
Personally I would not touch Victoria Beckham with someone else's knob, but I know of people who think she is gorgeous. The reverse is true of the 911 for me. I have wanted one since I was 10-years-old. Yes, there are prettier cars, but its a 911 - the car I have coveted since I was a kid.

Dreadful? I've spoken to many authoritative sources who affirm that the new GT3 is possibly the best sports car on the planet at the moment. Edited by The Pits on Friday 13th July 13:30
Having driven it, I see no reason to disagree with them.

I'd like to say your points are all valid, well observed and food for thought. Porsche has had many years of racing success with these 'cars with the engine in the wrong place' and my own experience of my GT3 tell me you are probably wrong. Enjoy your TVR experience, though.from the brochure 'titanium exhaust reduces load over the rear axle for improved driving dynamics'

Im sure they'll do a club sport version.
But unless you can completely disable the PASM and TC it holds absolutely no interest for me and I guarantee you won't be able to.
I guess Porsche's attempt at preventing the 997 receiving the widow maker handle.

As soon as it arrives on the british tracks, mine will be in for an engine upgrade.
I am really interested if Porsche will enable the electronics to be completely turned off or will it be like ABS were it will come in eventually.
I am sure the likes of Fearnsport will figure out how to disable them properly maybe by pulling a few relays and fuses from the right place.
Anyway awesome car, although it will be three years before i will be able to afford one.
BTW - can we stop asking stupid questions about the merits of electronic aids on a track car, they are for your partners Renault Scenic school run car.... i thought we had already covered this

i called my local opc today & they already have 5 deposits but will only receive 1 car. if the romours of only 20 - 30 cars for the uk are true and most of them probably ear marked for there trade friends, what chance do any of us punters have of ordering one to spec & not being ripped with a premium by the after market dealers.
i guess they buy loads of stock from OPCs, expect & maybe deserve to get them but its still quite frustrating that even if your willing to sell your soul to sit in that gt2 seat, most of us wont be buying one via the official path.
i was also thinking that if the standard Carrera is 60k, thats a 70K premium for the GT2. thats a big lump of extra cash for some ceramics, carbon, a couple of blowers and little engineering skulduggery.
still want one tho, so bad it hurts

The 911's days as a sports car are numbered. As a touring car though it will continue to be magnificent.
