I had naïvely hoped that the bonnet and wings (possibly even the headlights) would have been one piece (hinged from the rear à la BMW MINI). It could have looked wonderfull but perhaps it would have been more expensive to make and repair so they have gone for a separate bonnet.
As it stands, the final look certainly differentiates the look from lesser Q5s etc. but it stil may be an expensive part as if one wing is damaged, the whole panel (i.e. both upper wings and the connecting panel between the leading edge of the bonnet and the top of the radiator grille would need to be changed).
I presume that it is all made of the same PU that bumper covers and 981 sill/side vent panels are made of.

Thanks, but seeing EST there confused me - LA is West Coast...
I found this on a Porsche press release;
...will be unveiled on the eve of the trade fair event on November 19, at 19:55 (November 20, 3:55 CET). This premiere of the Porsche Macan will be broadcast live at the following link: www.porsche.com/macan. The press conference will take place on November 20 at 11:35 (November 20, 21:35 CET)

So I'm not going to be up at 4 in the morning to watch so will pick it up in the morning I wait to see whether we'll get pricing until after the press conference.

Already in Car magazine with a first drive, very positive from a glance. Looks great.
Come on you can't leave us hanging like that! Any word on pricing? Is this a post embargo piece or one of those lightly disguised rides? A cheeky photo or scan wouldn't go amiss either Fezzaman said:

Haha - sorry, so I can't help - they delayed the subscription due to the embargo on this and the Jag F Type coupe. Saw it in the shop today, but hasn't been delivered at home yet!!! Basically - they got to drive it in a very secure location where spy shots wouldn't have been possible, so they could could remove all the camo. So an early drive, but no disguise for the pics.However - it is like the pics from the mag that was leaked, with the black side stripe. The boot is the version with the numberplate low down in the bumper. Clamshell bonnet looks great.
Can't remember pricing - sorry, stats were for the 'S' which sounds like it uses a similar engine the Audi S4. No 4 cylinder diesels for a couple of years if I remember correctly.
I really don't see how you could choose the Q5 or X3 over this - it just looks fantastic.
They are also at the 'ring with the Nismo GTR - interesting comment with them saying 'we're ok with Porsche being King' - but pointing out that the GTR is the fastest 'series' production car.
