1974 2.7 carrera
Discussion
Yes, good to see ... thanks !
Didn't this engine produce 150bhp on the east coast and rather less on the west coast where they had cats and water injection ??
Add aircon on a hot day and I'll bet the performance was very tame ...
Some of the colours were great ... I owned a 1995 car ...
Ice Metallic Green with a Russet wool interior !!
(found some better pics)

a carrera 2.7 is I guess different then a 2.7 RS?
long time ago I owned a nice 1976 carrera 3.0 coupe, 1600-1700 or so made I believe.
forgot how it drove though, it had turbo seats and all green leather which I thought cool, would not choose such but when you see it it was special.
I remember though when the tank was almost empty and you went faster then say 160km/h then it felt light-ish at the front, not that something happens after that, but stil.
here a old scanned in picture

The 2.7 Carrera was the impact bumper equivalent of the 2.7RS Touring.
I believe the only other difference was the rear suspension arms that were cast aluminium instead of the tubular steel of the 2.7RS.
American cars also had proper shunting impact bumpers with a compression spring mechanism whilst european one had a collapsible aluminium tube ... so the US cars were also a little heavier ...

US spec cars didn't have the MFI motor so are not comparable
ah, that makes some sense, did they not have something like 179ps or so? thats why I was so wondering, I see a lot Porsche 2,7 for sale on mobile.de but almost all have less then 280ps those are the normal 2.7 carrera's
and then you see a lot restomods RS cars with named the 2.7 MFI engine were they say same-ish as the 2,7 RS engine. And make that engine story big and so the asking prices :-)
my old Carrera 3.0 was not that heavy and had 200 ps not the 210 ps so they were an upgrade compared to the -180 ps carrera's also the 3.0 engine seem to be the same-ish as the 3.0 Turbo cars , but then without the turbo? anyhow, something like that.
