....er....what happened on the M40 last one you attended....?
On the way back there were some Police cars on the hard shoulder. I don't think it had anything to do with us, we have been lucky in the last six meets that all attendees have driven safely and respected other roads users! I have wanted from the very start for these to be a social event, gathering like minded people doing what we enjoy and free from any commercial interest!!!!The biggest issue (for me) is ensuring that no one gets lost which can be difficult in a large group.
Glad to see a interesting mix of Pork coming both old and new, not long to go chaps

Did you see in the other thread that I thought I saw you on the Edgware Road a couple of Wednesdays ago? Can't be many Caymans in that colour scheme, looked very clean!
I didnt see that thread no - where is it?Just looked at my diary - the 12th (wednesday) I took the Cayman in to work and I was around the Edgware Road area - must have been me!
Were you in the GT2?

It looked the business, made me miss my Cayman S again

As for the safe driving thing here, it wasn't a big deal and for the record everybody was driving very safely within the limits, it just seemed a coincidence that we had an escort running back into London! There was clearly no reason to pull anyone over but I just wondered if they might have been alerted to a group of Porsches on the roads, probably just being paranoid.
I was in a snake of nine the other nigh, out with the boys from 911uk at their Fairmile Meet
We ended up in Elstead at the Mill.
Great drive out.
They look fantastic in a line, plod usually keep well off ten Porsches as long as they are behaving.
TrafPol love Porsche as much as you or I in my opinion, driven well of course.
I´ve had many an admiring glance from TD, always let them in/out/past, they always say thanks.

Why would you need a form, the only reason I can think would be to remove liability from the organiser if anything happened. ![confused](/inc/images/confused.gif)
As PH isn't organising this it's probably not an issue is it? I've been on Porsche Club Great Britain organised drives and didn't have to sign anything, and those guys are the kings of forms so if there was one needed they'd have it.
Have we got any lawyers in the list?

Insurance?
Can you elaborate?
MSA permit is needed by the looks of things. Can you elaborate?
Put simply this permit acts as a form of
insurance for you, the organiser, meaning
that if anything goes wrong on your run then
you would be unlikely to be held personally
responsible.

bollix but true and you may even find your insurance will not cover you in the event of a crash, you might only have 3rd party over.
It is a published event on Pistonheads so not hard to track down if a crash happens.
then all sorts of s
t could happen if no cover is in place.
3 or 4 cars meeting up is ok but 20 cars driving about all the same make on an published Organised Event is a whole new ball game.
