Bad news. Mark has had to pull out due to his insurance company not covering the remap.

Think this GB will go on 2 months now

do you not have to upgrade a few other bits on the car to make the most of this remap? i.e clutch, exhaust, diverter valves, headers , hoses etc?
Depends on how long you want the engine to last.
Changing the dv's, headers, and hoses has nothing to do with making the engine last !! The engine will take a simple remap all day long with nothing else needed.

However, it will put more stress on certain things, so changing hoses and dv's is a precautionary measure to move to upgraded parts better equipped to deal with the extra boost. Leaving them stock however won't jeapordise the engine at all.... however it may lead to you being on the side of the road one day waiting for a recovery truck if your stock hose from 2001 pops out for instance.
Now will come all the other views.lol
Indeed everyone has a view, but seriously, if anyone thinks that a decent 40-50hp ecu tune is gonna start stretching a healthy turbo engine, they simply don't know this platform.

totally agree with everything Zero said....

I left mine stock after a remap... ran fine unti it popped the 'F' hose

996TT's NEEED remaps! you wont regret it guys!

Porkie, all my hoses are replaced with Samco's.... F-hose especially. I figure it pays in the long run to do this plus DV's at point of remap, even tho my stock ones were still ok.

my strd TT only boosts 0.6 bar max at the moment (i think it should be 0.8), so it will go to local OPC tomorrow before anything else is undertaken, but after having studied the topic closely, it will more than likely get the FS treatment v soon indeed.

eric 0.6 and 0.7 bar is normal for a 420hp turbo... 0.8 and 0.9 for an X50. If your car is not under wtee then send it to FS anyway if they are remotely local to you - they will investigate and advise of any issues before doing anything to remap it.

Andy, i was thinking: they don' t come to your place for this type of mod? (DMS do this i think).
Just asking this because they are not exactly close by.

I had my car looked at by local OPC under all angles for 2 full days and they could not find anything. Car boosts 0.6 bar and it is fine..
