collected mine yesterday , sand white black leather all other bits and pieces . Totally different car to old model which I always thought too many compromises . The new model much more of a drivers car 100% improved build quality . Speced 21" wheels which do transmit slight noise on poor road service , would advise ' air '
I have a Disco 4 Tdv6 HSE for my second home in the Alps and I must say it is a fantastic car. It does not have the dynamics of a Cayenne, hence my enquiery to pikey about exchanging my UK RR to a Cayenne as I don't need to go up snowy mountains in this country which the Discovery does like no other car. Also all the electronics in the Disco are class leading so ideally you want the Communication Package, Sat Nav and Terrain Response System of the Disco with the dynamics of the new Cayenne at 60k. Why can't anyone replicate the touch screen Sat Nav of the Landrover / Jaguar btw? Porsche, Audi and Aston is just plain crap in comparison.

Cayenne could be my next car but after speccing one on the configurater it comes out at over 60k which makes it far more expensive than it's rivals for comparative spec.
Well specced cayenne will be £60, £65k. The only compareable car is the RRsport Autobiography which is about £67k with a couple of extras,so all in all not that bad. Plus i now think the Cayenne is a much better car and i own a range rover.Actually, I do like the walnut. Ridiculous on a 911, but think a bit of wood suits the new Cayenne interior.
And, IMO, no problems with the black wheel arch protectors. Colour coding, like the front splitters on some 911s, can look too much.
Seen a few new Cayennes now and the mark of a good design is the way it can carry off almost any colour combo. The old one was very colour sensitive and needed big wheels to look half credible. The new one looks so much sharper and sportier.

The spec we ordered (see page 1) was 60 (so diesel with a lot of extras), but the varients are wide so you could spend as little as 40 or as much as 100. A point worth noting is as you go up the range you get more included (ie. SatNav comes with the Turbo) so you can't directly compare the options we have against a higher or lower base model.
What amazes me is the amount of car you have got for the cash, compared with a 911.....Adam B said:

black wheel arches - should be colour-coded

I love the black wheel arches. I thought they were colour coded and wanted to have them black, but that's how they came anyway.black wheel arches - should be colour-coded

Walnut - *really* love this!
But hey - this is why people can option their own to their heart's content

Pikey is the sat nav any good ? and is it not touch screen then ? Thanks. It is both touch screen and dial controlled (like the last version, which I'm used to). The main display can show a standard "flat" map or a 3-D map. Detail is very good. Close up nearing a junction is very good. Audible instructions are clear and well timed.
The driver's dashboard has a dial that can be multi-function showing one of Tuner/CD, Phone, Trip computer, sat nav 'simple' direction, or sat nav map. I prefer to have it on the sat nav 'simple' as that was what I had on my Gen 1 997, but it's very clear and certainly prevents the need for taking your eyes too far off the road.
The only complaint I have is the lack of full postcode search, which is a bit pathetic in this day and age, but it is a very good, integrated, full featured system. I haven't seen the version in the Landrover or Jaguar so can't comment as a comparison.

Congratulations on the car. Nice spec. Ordered mine way back in July just finalising my order with the garage for any last minute spec changes! Mine should be arriving in November. Thought I could get away with spending £52k-£55k but as someone has previously said, you are really looking at £60-65k for a nice spec car. Any options which you consider in hindsight you could of done without or any you wish that you should of gone for?

Just to resurrect this - I shall be ordering mine in a couple of weeks. Does everyone think Air and PASM is a must have? Apart from that I'm just trying to choose between Black/Black (with aluminium to lift it) or Blue with Umber/Cream interior for more luxury (no kids
