Wheres rlw?
He's got a Zanzibar Mk1 hasnt he, and lives near Brands (though I wouldnt have thought he would have the cross on the back)
He was in Cornwall when this thread started but is now thinking (in a guilty way) "oh good, now only 8 in RHD".........He's got a Zanzibar Mk1 hasnt he, and lives near Brands (though I wouldnt have thought he would have the cross on the back)
That does look a mess and suitable only for the bin I think.

Sold for £15500. Madness.
Why is it 'madness'? From the majority of 'its fit for the bin' and 'its good to break only' posts in this thread it is plain that most posters have little to no idea what theyre talking about. Based on what I can see, as everyone elses post is, it appears to be a relatively easy repair to me. Amusingly - the second car pictured is far more seriously damaged, but because the wings and door arent dented and scratched, everyone seems less concerned.

He may be buying it to sell on as parts, he may be buying it as a project knowing he won't make anything out of it.
Who knows?

While the work wont be done at an OPC it will have to be done to a pretty high standard so add labour on to the list of parts and you wont be that far off the price of a straight car.
That was my point when I said it was fit only for the bin. Unless the purchaser can sell it in bits for a profit, surely the cost of fixing it, plus the purchase price, and its now somewhat flawed history, will mean its never worth that money to an(informed!)future purchaser. Of course, if the current purchaser intends using it himself, possibly as a track car, then good luck to him and may he get many years of happy motoring out of it.

How much did the GT3RS go for this time around?
It will be auctioned on Wednesday 14th. It sold for £40k a couple of weeks ago, but it is back up for sale again. Im sure it was and when i checked back it had dissapered?
I think a lot of you guys are missing the point, my guess is whoever bought that car was in the trade, most salvage is sold to bodyshop guys.
I am not saying joe public hasnt bought it, but even if that is the case if they can do the work themself's then a big saving on labour will be acheived.
If that car was sat in the corner of my workshop and used as an inbetween job's deal i would be quite happy, i know a chap bought a ferrari 456, took him over a year to source the parts and repair the car, cheap motor at the end.
