but it's a posted event every month on Pistonheads
and none of us are mates.
I think he needs to look at it just for peice of mind.
People can turn nasty if you crash into them, and then your screwed with no cover and a court action pending.
It isn't a monthly event, maybe quarterly. But that's irrelevant.and none of us are mates.

that's why I used ""
you are driving on a public road. If you crash, normal road rules apply. Your standard car insurance cover is not disabled just because you crash into someone you know or sort of know. Why should it be any different if you are driving with people you sort of know, as oppposed to people you don't know at all?
Also, no one is advocating driving at any particular speed or in any particular manner, so I really don't see that there is any additional risk that needs to insured against.
Insurance issue on London Meets is a red herring.

Has the run got insurance ?
when we did Lotus runs we had to have some and forms to fill out.
Sad but true.
Thank you for your post.when we did Lotus runs we had to have some and forms to fill out.

The London Meets are a very casual and social affair, it is not tied in, affiliated or part of any commercial interest and there is no set agenda. So there is nothing to insure.
No different to a group of friends meeting and going for a drive, which is the appeal to me. In fact as mentioned many of the attendees are friends and speak off-line too

I have found a volunteer to be my wingman, but if anyone would like/enjoys taking pictures then that would be great! (Usually Ms 98C4S or Nevyn take them but they may not attend this meet)
hi,I'm planning on mounting a camcorder to my windscreen. Porsches in a convoy look awesome. I hope my extra battery arrives in time or it'll just be an hour of recording.
Cheers
