Andy, i was thinking: they don' t come to your place for this type of mod? (DMS do this i think).
Just asking this because they are not exactly close by.

I had my car looked at by local OPC under all angles for 2 full days and they could not find anything. Car boosts 0.6 bar and it is fine..

For anyone still thinking about going for the remap, this group buy will be closing on the 18th
I've always been interested to know whether the people that come to your door to download their file actually check the car before doing anything, other than a cursory diagnostics check ?

Eric, FS are not a mobile software provider. If you want peace of mind, then the tuner should be checking the basics on the turbo before starting to tweak it - pressure test for leaks, n75 valve working, actuators ok, maf ok, dv's ok etc etc... before I had my car mapped I had my coils checked/replaced, sparks changed, and a leakdown cyl test peformed.

Its your perrogative as to whether you consider it worth taking it to someone that can check your car is 100% beforehand, or if you are happy for someone to just download a file as is.

Or maybe I'm just paranoid !! lol !

Up to you erics.
You'll get less service and pay an extra £600 + vat for dms, just for them to come to you.
London to silverstone is not going to cost that much in fuel.
I live further away but i would rather travel

Andy, what's the rough figure for the re-map? I'm not fussed about big numbers etc, I'm just trying to establish what increase in % in order to get an accurate insurance quote.

Cheers

I was just thinking out loud. No defo not going to dms.
Miras, i trust you are very thorough in your approach. And will certainly follow your footsteps.
I had my car looked closely by porsche east london for 2 days last week regarding my boost of 'only' 0.6 bar.
May not be gospel talk, but provides a relative peace of mind.

Booking my rendez vous with FS tomorrow.

From my research its going to be in the region of :

Standard 996TT after remap = 470 - 480 bhp

Then add exhaust = 480 - 500 bhp

I think ZeroH with an X50 is now doing around 470ish with fearns remap and Miltek, which was not too dissimilar to what he had before when dynoed, saying that lag has nearly been eliminated and is producing quicker times.

Osh my X50 was dyno'd at 475hp stock !! In theory, over 500hp should be where you are at for an X50+map+zorst. However, from my experience, what the dyno says, compared to how the car performs, are very different. If you want to know your gains, get a vbox. Its the true test and only one I trust.
