AFAIK the Porsche GT products are/will be built on a seperate line to the Cayman/911 products so does this mean that as they will be probably building both GT3 RS and GT4 at the same time it drastically reduces their capacity to deliver many of either?
same line as the rest, has been the case since 997skijumper said:
Great to hear what Andreas has to say about the new RS. The much bigger tyres make it
22 mm taller than the GT3, as tall as a std Carrera. Wonder has the gearing been lowered
to help it accelerate harder. Look fwd to seeing it in the flesh, stunning machine.
Is it really as much as that, in the rear quarter pics it looks a bit of a tank..... GT3 definitely prettier, RS aggressive looking22 mm taller than the GT3, as tall as a std Carrera. Wonder has the gearing been lowered
to help it accelerate harder. Look fwd to seeing it in the flesh, stunning machine.

Could you kindly use your iPhone ruler to measure the ground clearance of the front lip please so we can workout if we need to spec the lift option?
Many thanks in advance!!

10 at one UK OPC? Ok impressive, was told flat out no chance at Reading. LHD ones not anything like that difficult so that's where I'll get one as I just want one to drive it rather than obsess about RHD values....
Still remain slightly unconvinced of the 991 generation of gt3 but to be fair I reckon I'll give it a shot to see how it goes. Will be an interesting comparison vs the older cars and other modern highly electronic cars.

Not sure if I will sell it when RS arrives to be honest.

The gear ratios are the same in both. The final drive has been shortened a fraction to compensate for the larger rear wheel and tyre package. Though the reduction is not quite as much as the tyre size takes away. 22 mm taller than the GT3, as tall as a std Carrera. Wonder has the gearing been lowered

I was a day late for an available allocation - should have visited the OPC yesterday instead of today.
What are peoples' thoughts on lightly used Speciale vs. new 991 GT3RS - they are similar price. I guess it is tough to say without having even seen in the metal / let alone driven the RS. Last NA V8 is certain I guess, there is still a chance there will be another NA RS I guess.

Morning all - I have managed to deposit , but I haven't had a slot confirmed as of yet (but told I will be contacted v soon to fill in order form ) I guess , I'm just trying to get a feeling about how many others (in the UK) are in the same boat - ie in the maybe / maybe not camp vs those who've deposited and have had a car confirmed. (& if all of these are 918 owners ?)
It would be nice to know is if the UK dealers have knowledge of their full allocations yet or have they just firmed up the "no brainers" and the rest of us will have to wait until their final allocation is known.
Either way - congratulations to all who have one confirmed and good luck to the people trying
