I've seen your ad too, so tempting, but a little early for me as well Mick

I'm afraid not. It's not even an auto either (which I'm sure as a discerning buyer you'll have on your wish list) yajeed - You mean yours isn't base spec. in Rainforest Green with Savannah like I have heart set on

Looks like a fair amount of interest for the poverty pork, mine will up for sale when I can get over how little money it will make, but cannot have 5 cars in the family and two porkers, 44k, 2001 car, only one owner, probably be lucky to get 7k, hence why I might just keep it around for some open top summer fun and put the turbo in the garage !!robbieduncan said:

Well i got the Mrs to look at the ad but a Fisher Furry has caught her eye and i'm trying to convince her that's not suitable for commuting in I too have decided to sell my Boxster.
I've had it for about half a year and it's been a great car but there's no real reason for me to have something sensible so I'm going back to VX220s for a little while. I'll terribly miss a lot about the Boxster: the noise, the acceleration, the comfort, the warmth, the quality feel and lots more.

Highly recommend this book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Projects-Porsche-Boxster-M...
I have this book and if anyone wants it they can have it for free. I am based in Herts ( Or Essex) Or soon to be Bournemouth This is my project car at the moment have had the car a couple years each year doing various improvements.
Its a 3.2s 1999 with 36k on the clock 3 previous owners. Seal Grey with grey interior the car has now done 46k in the two years has not missed a beat whilst not the quickest car out there its a really well balanced car which rewards the driver
Bought off a sweet old lady who had not a clue about servicing schedules etc but the car just had 4 new tyres n rated to Porsche spec and new discs and pads front and back. The other selling point was that the rms was bone dry no oil leaks from this area
Bought for 7.5k It needed a bit of work to put right
List goes like this
New Coil packs
Full service
Fuel filter change
Poly rib belt change
Coolant change
Brake fluid change
Replaced Sticky thermostat
Throttle body clean
Replace MAF (No issue with old one but was given a nearly new one)
Total intial cost £1k via Porsche indie (I kept this amount back from my purchase spend to ensure I could afford to correct any issues)
Once we carried this work out its been regular oil change every 6k miles (cheapest way is via your local Kwik fit) I have since tackled a few jobs myself the boxster is quite an easy car to work on for basic tasks brakes pads etc
I have carried out the following mods
Clear rear lights upgrade (fronts had been done)
Later roof with glass heated rear screen
Replaced alloys with facelift boxster s alloys plus 4 wheel laser alignment
Sports Exhaust
Fitted Zunsport grilles to prevent leaf litter etc from blocking up rads
Private plate
Total cost of mods £1300 I could have not done any mods but like my weekend cars to look and drive right and I guess its like any hobby you can keep spending!!
Future work to be done
Removing bumper next week clear out all the crap in the rad/condenser area
Front bumper respray to remove road rash
Machine polish (do this once a year just to remove minor marring) Zymol products used
Seal Grey was always my choice of colour as it makes the boxster look still modern. What have I learnt since buying mine is its quite easy to do some work on the car yourself such as discs and pad changes, access to the underside is a pain unless you access to a ramp.

Really like the red roof with seal grey. Any other mods planned?
Probably not looked into some horse power gains but the cost versus gains do not stack upMay go 18" alloys at some stage but the current alloys are immaculate with pretty new rubber on
May put on some drl on the car very aware not to turn the car into a chav mobile!!
