Prospective 991 GT3 Owners Discussion

As we are waiting for news, have any one of you who have driven the 991 GT3 owned or driven a Fiat 430 Scuderia - what where you thoughts on that car compared to the stop sale one?
Scud is a great event of a car. Loud and fun. But VERY fragile compared to a GT3 and not suited to extensive track work. Really bad brakes unless you get heat in them!!! Safe place to put your money though.Further to the most interesting of photos a few pages back of GT3s lined up at PAG frighteningly close to a big pile of salt, it has now been confirmed that completed cars are being kept 'under storage cover' in a 'temperature controlled enviroment' .......anyone clued up on tarpaulins and carports.....:

Interesting to see that although a few have cancelled/returned we appear to have a number adding to the list and the current situation doesn't seem to be putting everybody off
Yes, this is encouraging.....but not unexpected...I was actually at my OPC today and during the approx 90 minutes I was there drinking coffee, 2 potential GT3 depositers came in hoping to place an order.....
Those who may be contemplating 'jumping ship'.....think on....

I have subsequently discovered that the picture in question was taken in Davisville Canada and thus that was not my car, well if it is then somebody has got the shipping very wrong AndyBrew said:

there have been a couple of pics of cars with extended leather and deviant stitching... looked a bit much to me, but to each their own! I think if you go back to sort of xmas time in this thread the pics all started to appear around then...
Please can we refer to this as 'deviating' stitching - 'deviant' stitching is something quite different.Edited by sidicks on Friday 21st March 18:49

While I wait, I'm thinking of asking my OPC to fit the reversing camera I see on the configurator for other 911s (and now Cayman/Boxster). Park sensors are too hard but the camera should mount neatly between the numberplate lights.
Anyone similarly tempted?

You must have shifted quite a lot of coffee in 90mins! I would rather wait for the compensation offer than give myself caffeine poisoning on free coffee GRBF430F1 said:

PNA compo offer shocker!
(as detailed on Rennlist by Bakamon)
"I discussed my compensation with PC today:
If I take the engine replacement:
1. A loaner and a $150/day cash until my GT3 fixed and returned. (approved)
2. No loaner and a $200/day cash until my GT3 fixed and returned.(approved)
3. 30% discount from MSRP(w/op) cash refund. (they will report to PAG and reply me next week)
4. Extended 3 years Warranty. (they will report to PAG and reply me next week)
5. All fix and replacement must be down and return my GT3 before June 30, 2014.
※ They will offer me a loaner list next Monday, I will decide to take #1 or #2 after that.
The daily cash compensation started from Feb. 20, 2014.(stop drive announcement date)
If I reorder a 2015 GT3 or RS: (PAG released all 2015 models details but no GT3 only, strangely?)
1. 10% discount from MSRP and $20K free option on order. (they will report to PAG but it seems to be difficult to be approved)
So, after many good discussions with PC then my thought is:
If you stay in, you will get compensation you want if they don’t cross PAG’s bottom line.
What is their bottom line? Simply, it depends on how much a new buyer would pay for your fixed/engine replaced GT3?
MSRP~10% discount – Impossible !
20% discount – some but not 785
If you want to out, you will get nothing but can make yourself comfortable, save time and choose another toy which can make you happy"
That would be a result IF it happens but I'm not sure it gives me any greater confidence in the car and fix.(as detailed on Rennlist by Bakamon)

I would go for a 2015 GT3 if one comes along
For me this is the deal breaker. Why can the Americans get something on the table and not us, is it because we are all stupid and British enough not to scream the house down? Personally I am livid with Porsche who have completely fuxxed my summer up and who don't seem to give a toss.
Hands up who has confidence in Porsche actually fixing this problem first time? What other issues will raise their heads over time, very few of these cars have actually been used in anger yet. those of us who have lived through intermediate shafts, bore scoring, centre lock hubs etc etc etc have long memories and sore fingers.
Rant over
I agree mate, my plans have been well and truly balls'd up but there seems to be nothing happening on any front with anything, I can only assume it's a waiting game for Porsche to announce what they are going to do for you guys that had your cars delivered and then taken away
I'm not convinced we as purchasers mean that much in the grand scheme of things!

I assume you're not serious here!Rest assured you mean nothing to Porsche and anyone thinking they mean something need to stop sniffing the white stuff.
