The GT3 gen 1
Well this is my second one and to be fair it is driven only on the road because it is now a rare thing. This was driven properly and felt much more forgiving than the 993RS which had the same modular rear suspension assembly but let-go so suddenly that it almost felt a step backwards from the Maritime 964RS ... That was a learning process ... I remember Mike from Sport and Classics ? and I had a real ding dong on the full GP circuit at Donnington and around the Melbourne loop the 993RS was areal handful !
The GT3 by comparison was gently driftable and very predictable ... but on the tyres of the day it had nothing like the grip of the GT4.
Of course there is less weight transfer in the GT4 and in some ways the GT4 is therefore easier to drive. But to be fair, particularly in the way that my modified GT4 breathes with the road and flows over the kerbs, the expensive and much more modern components that I have fitted lift it well away from the 981 standard car.
But in terms of fun ? The same ... just slower ! And a road car !!

The new old forever car ...I've owned it twice now and it's done another 1500 miles ...
There was no RS at the time, this homologated the GT3 Cup, GT3R and later endurance racers ... the Clubsport version was manufactured at Weissach and was the seed DNA for everything that has followed.

Something not correct with the 993 to be like that chris,it has been played with over the years.Do you still have it.
I agree. Something definately not right with the 993. Generally the 964 and 993 RS's are far more forgiving than the 996GT3. not the topic here, but what’s your driving experience with 997.2 RS 3.8 vs 991.2 RS ? Thanks.

Yellow will be the guy to answer this as he currently owns both a 997.2 RS and 991.2 RS WP. I think he much prefers the newer car due to progress..He's a very seasoned racing driver so worth listening to on his opinion on cars..not the topic here, but what’s your driving experience with 997.2 RS 3.8 vs 991.2 RS ? Thanks.
