Errr, ahem, cough. Do the words "copyright infringement" meaning ANYTHING to you ????? No shame some people
Copy, what ?? If I could find that picture of Super Mario messing around in the RSR engine bay, that would have been posted too - I guess these other ones I've err "own", will have to do instead :
Also please can you stop posting that picture of my broken RSR - as you know I'm currently setting up Trackday Air-cooled Driving Tuitiongods.com and this sort of thing really isn't helping - as you know that course is really tricky , very bendy and lots of scenery to take in - as you can see that tree obviously tried to cross the road as I was passing , no wonder I came off the road a little teeny bit -some people are so picky !

Evening R, 'fraid there is no hi res version (that I'm aware of) of the racecars in the workshop image I posted earlier in the thread
Evening H. Thanks for editing my post - can't seem to even bloody type properly anymore - thank god you're here or I'd be in a right old mess ! Evening R, 'fraid there is no hi res version (that I'm aware of) of the racecars in the workshop image I posted earlier in the thread
(Re image ; low res email will do - I just can't seem to save the one off the thread - ta)
I have to say there are some absolute corkers on this thread - I love the one of you with the tash next to that old red 911 - very cool !

Morning H - I'd forgotten that photo of me and the wife - it's a corker - Damm my wardrobe was cool - loving the action slacks - you've got to hand it to the 70's it was a proper decade clothing wise !
Also good of you to post the retro marketing below - it really was amazing the depths that Porsche went to to get you on board (they must have known you'd be a true brand ambassador and driving demon) ; it's as if they designed a whole campaign around you - they were great marketeers ; that personal relatable connection must have been very powerful !
(Original image from the RSVP911 archives- copyright protected - see what I did there !)
I have to say I'm really pleased with this post - mixing wit and irony so early in the morning - genius )

Derek Bell in a spot of bother...
'Quick Vic'...
One off (?) 914/8...
A pre-impact bumper 912 Targa in the snow, what could be nicer...
Probably just an insignificant little pic at first glance, but this 911 Targa was stolen by a member of the Baarder Meinhof gang in the '70s and used for 'nefarious purposes' thereafter, at belonged to a German motorsport photographer at the time...

"It’s June 1971, and race prep for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans is well underway. Continuing its 20-year tradition, Porsche has set up its “home away from home”, a garage in Teloché, where everyone is working hard to ensure that its 917 fleet ends up on top of the podium…
After the success at last year’s Le Mans, the Porsche team is all the more focused on another year of race domination. As part of their winning formula, Porsche is doing all of its last-minute preparations and modifications away from the lively and overcrowded pits on the racetrack, setting up shop in a barn in Teloché. Space is limited, so bodywork is propped up and tucked away in any space available while the final tweaks are made to the engines.
Number 21, one of three LH, or long-tail versions, participating in this year’s race, will be campaigned by Vic Elford and Gérard Larrousse of the Martini International Racing team, with the other two being campaigned by Jo Siffert/Derek Bell and Pedro Rodriguez/Jackie Oliver, both under the J.W. Automotive Engineering banner.
Qualifying will turn out to be quite successful, with all three LHs on the podium — number 21 sandwiched between the two J.W. Automotive Engineering machines. Unfortunately for the long-tail models, none will see the final lap of the race, as all will retire early due to engine failure. To add insult to injury, this would be the last year for these large-engined 917s to participate in the race due to new size-limiting FIA regulations in 1972.!
