Will a Labrador fit in the rear of a 997?
Discussion
So the answer is as follows:
991 - no; with the rear seats folded the rear shelf is too pronounced
997 - yes; with the rear seats folder the rear shelf, while still having a lip, is not as bad and the dog bed would fit
Panamera - yes; just have to lift the dog into the boot as the opening is to high
and surprisingly having wondered into a Jaguar dealer this morning, the XKR is perfect especially when there isn't a spare wheel
but how is a dog worth the Jag's depreciation...............

I keep the rear seats up and pull the front passenger seat as far forward as it will go. She jumps into the rear footwell and then onto the back seat. She sits up until we hit the motorway and then curls up, resting her head on the gearbox tunnel and goes to sleep. Admittedly there are signs of her jumping in etc but given I have done 170k miles in it, I am not too worried!
