I got PI8RS R for £250. As my name is PIERS RICHINGS and it's got RSR on it I was pretty pleased......Unfortuantely my RS is N reg, so I've got to wait for GT3RS and 993RS prices to equalise, make the swap and use the plate! Until then it stays on my Golf.

Back to the original question, my friend went for a 51-reg in the end. He said he didn't care whether the plate said Y or 51 but he prefered the better spec of the post Aug-01 cars. He said that new interior (with glovebox) and Bose as standard were important factors for him. He picks the car up on Friday: Black on black, 51-reg, 22k miles, immaculate, manual, £56k.
