Auto Express 998 Spy Shots
Discussion
I'm not surprised by these spyshots, hugely disappointed, but not surprised. Porsche has given up making beautiful cars.
I honestly believe they need to drop the round headlights.
By standing them even more upright, it simply gives the 911 an even greater 'Beatle Type R' appearance.
Give the 998 a front end similar to the CGT, delete wing mirrors in favour of cameras and just a few minor tweaks to the rear end.
More noise as standard.
All 'S' models should be a little wider than non 'S' models.
Get rid of the clock on sport chrono pack in favour of head up display.
No increase in weight.
Get 410-420bhp from a flat six, flappy paddle for PDK instead of tip format. Job done.
oh, a nice interior would be a change (911 has never had one).

8 cylinder flat boxer engine would be a bit too heavy imo for rear engine car. With fuel/CO2 issues think they will stick with 6 cylinder configuration and also bring in a 4 cylinder boxer engine for the 911 pehaps calling it the 912 again. High performance variants will be turbocharged. Ferrari/Aston will follow suit as large capacity engines will never be able to meet future European CO2 legislation unless they are hybrids.
nah... Porsche can make a lighter 8 cylinder boxer engine no problem! There is much C02 legislation already and Porsche/Ferrari doesn't meet! Do think there will be more turbos in the future though....forza whites said:
