992 Turbo S prices
Discussion
I know 992 Turbo S have held up amazingly well and almost all used cars are over list but this must be a pi$$ take surely?
Ok it's lovely but a £100K premium? Even Tom Hartley is selling a 200 mile car for £60K less than this one.

It was about £10K more a month or so ago. Ok it's lovely but a £100K premium? Even Tom Hartley is selling a 200 mile car for £60K less than this one.

I’m actually baffled why any of these should go for overs at all - according to autotrader there are over 90 992 Turbo S cars on sale vs 63 991 Turbo S cars which is split across 991.1 and 2 variants. With low miles 991.2 cars trading at around the 120k mark and 991.1 in the 80-90k bracket that is an awful lot of depreciation to come for anyone paying a overs premium. Whilst I assume there is still a long wait list it’s still a main production car with more to come so over 90 unsold used examples doesn’t at all suggest a supply / demand imbalance that would justify overs on any of them.
I would like a 992 Turbo S as a all weather companion to my F12 but given all the used examples trading at near list or over are pretty nondescript black/black examples unless I could get a factory order there is no justification to paying the asking price premium on a plain spec car and i’m Inclined just to save myself 70k and get a 991.2 instead.

Bonkers.
Blisteringly fast and competent, but as pointed out, 200+k ought to be going on something more exotic, I’d have thought.
Outside the current climate, cooled 911 turbos get brutalised by depreciation. Wait a year.
991 TS were starting in the low 70s two years ago. That is a bargain, and there’s no reason to think the normal depreciation curve (at least) won’t resume, with the economic horizon looking how it is.

I'd say it looks like some OPCs are due to feel some big write-offs soon but was at a flagship OPC and they seemed to have little or no stock. One 21plate turbo s for £187k in good spec didn't seem overly dear? Th car in link has lw option. Very hard to get hold of.
Because they are not buying 911s because 911s aren’t selling (see post on 991-2 gt3 thread) 992TTS, 992GTS and 718GT4 were and still are being built in huge numbers so paying overs for any of them is just being stupid. Wait another month or so and 992TTS and 992GTS will be well under list if OPCs want them shifted. PCP rates at 12% will only exasperate the situation.
All of the above are great cars to buy as long as a degree of fiscal awareness is employed.

Hysterically over priced. Utterly epic car, but if you had a quarter million burning a hole in your pocket surely it's going on something more special.

Sorry - what's "lw" option? CheersGassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
