Porsche Driving Experience
Discussion
Has anyone on here ever done one of these Official Porsche Driving Experience Days(did a search, but didnt find anything)?
Its basically a half day course covering track / road driving techniques with 1 to 1 tuition.
Is it any good? I'm not that fussed, but my mates v keen.
Also - I'm wondering if it will lure me into a false sense of security, ie all of a sudden i think i'm a bit of a Derek Bell and end up backwards in a hedge faster than i might otherwise.... ?
Whats the thoughts - do these things really help you enjoy the car more - I dont plan on doing track days but do like to enjoy :driving: the swiss / french / italian roads at least once a year...

I thought about it and ended up doing a Carlimits day which was cheaper and for the whole day and I learnt the cars limits and more importantly my limits.
Would recomend that one

They would have charged you for it? The one I was offered was a 'test drive plus' which is normally a sales technique. It was originally sold to me as driver training (I bargained it in when I bought the car), but when I realised how short it was and that it was mostly to sell cars (despite the fact I'd be doing it in my own having bought it) I just didn't see the point. If there is a proper Porsche training day, then that might be better.

Some of these look pretty cool, especially the one at the Nordschliefe.

Hmm I think maybe I was being stuffed by my dealer as that driving experience sounds more like it. I shall be checking into this!
In fact it turns out I was correct. They agreed to do driver training which somehow warped into a testdrive plus for 1.5 hours, which is why it suddenly made no sense to go....
