Anyone prepared to admit to Cayenne ownership?
Discussion
I just took the plunge and was wondering if anyone else has one?
If so any thoughts?
My Bassalt Black (least offensive in dark colours) S is being delivered on Saturday. I have loved my Porsche's but need some more seats so I thought I'd give it a try.
I was impressed with the test drive but you can never really tell until you live with the thing.

Get good reviews frm virtually all the mags for on and off road.
I did consider a Turbo, but having previously had a ML430 4 by 4 which I got rid of because of the handling, braking and comfort on country roads, I was cautious and wanted to drive one before ordering.
Anyway went to the dealership to have a look at one and although happy to let us sit in it wouldn't allow a test drive ! Didn't even offer to get one in.
I don't think it looks too bad in the flesh (like the black colour best too) quite liked the interior, but inside it was smaller than I expected. Also one of the chaps on the BMW sites friend had one he gave back because it only did 8mpg over 1000 odd miles !

I put a deposit down with my OPC when it was annouced (£2K) Went to Birmingham to the Motorshow and viewed it as an invited guest (then as yet undicided)I waited for the RHD test drive cars to come in, did that! Result,(for me)it was quick, but very ugly and not what I really expected it to be... but what did I expect it to be?
Thought about it, and thought about it, and thought about... and just coundn`t find that ultimate likeable quality to part with £55K (Cayenne S with a few bits)
So I had to say NO!

There really aren't that many around. I tried to get one through an OPC and was offered 10,000ml examples at list or new cars at a premium.
There have been all sorts of rumours in the States that there are hundreds of unsold KNs on the forecourts being offered at discounts. In truth I think this was a combination of 2 things:
(a)US buyers do not like to wait 12 months for a car of their spec and so the manufacturers always order reasonable quantities to be on show when the customer visits the showroom (hence the cars on display); and
(b)Porsche US got the initial spec slightly wrong when doing the pre-ordering so they wanted to shift some of the early poorly spec'd cars.
Bottom line is that they are still selling over a 1000 a month in the US and the spec problems have been an issue here too with Porsche running out of some of the popular components such as the bigger wheels and the sat nav modules.
I will certainly let you know my first impressions after the weekend

Got one when they came out and thought they were great. Sold it for list+. Got anither coming next month to replace long term jeep. Can't wait!!!
Not a 911 replacement but best combo I can think off. Can get 4/5 people in it plus dog (although temptation is to drive like 911 with everybody in it)

Well, how was it?
I took a mate to our local Porsche dealer yesterday and tried a Turbo (lovely in black). Scared my mate witless 5.6 seconds to 100 and handling you just wouldn't credit for a 4x4!
I'd love to trade my Disco, but I'm afraid NZD 253,000 is completely out of my reach. Great car
