GT3 cat D whats it worth ?

This should be fun ! What do we think this is worth 45k 1999 orange GT3.

Not sure where it was raced ?

Shame, thats Zanzibar isnt it?

Needs lots of panelwork and who knows whats damaged mechanically, so how can you value it without that knowledge?

Difficult to guess just going by these photos - is that fire damage around the engine bay? I think it is going to be pretty low value.

If it was worth 35K before in good condition
sell when repaired 25k
cost 10k to fix...

Might be 15k

Not sure I would want the agg to save the money.

For me the difference is refurbishing a house and then selling it no one cares.

selling a house that you have underpinned its much harder and its a pain in the ass.

That is going to cost quite a lot to fix. The entire offside wants replacing.
The front and rear bumper and probably the crash bars.
Then the R O/S suspension does not look very good to me...

I would put £20k to one side for repairs.

For all the time and hassle, I would just buy a straight one to start with.

I have played the "lets rebuild a bent race car" game.... and although I came out the other side with a very, very nice looking car (due to the modular nature of this paticular car) the bank balance took a very serious hit - and my initial budget was 50% out.... eek.

It doesn't look like it's actually been raced. Some track day companies supply novice crosses for newbies so approaching traffic has a warning - I'd guess that's what the case is here. It looks like it's not had too severe an impact so I'm sure could be made into a safe straight car, but the various damage adds up so do your maths carefully.

I believe it happened at Brands on a normal but very wet track day. It even appears in anotehr incar video pre-crash...

I should think repair is only really an option if you never plan on selling it.

A shame for the car if it doesn't get repaired.

Seriously, there are worse damaged cars out there. If it were cheap enough to do it, great. But if you are getting anywhere near the price of a straight car then pay the extra and get a better car. I had a similar dilemma when I started looking for an RS. I wouldn`t mind a repaired car IF it has been repaired correctly AND the price is substantially lower. Remember, one day you will want to sell and that will be a challenge if you are expecting too much.

I just love pistonheads, you post a picture of the car you are interested in and someone always has the history, pictures or knows something about it.

Saved me a wasted trip to go and see it, bit more work than I want
