HELP!!

As a previous 911 owner, I am keen to get back into a Porsche after tasting a couple of TVR's.
The problem is that I can't afford a turbo (been lucky enough to have had three in the past), so I thought I'd go for a 993 C4 Cab and get it tuned - guess the wind in the hair TVR experience has left its mark!
I'm still looking at potential tuning options, but a supercharger seems most likley. However, I have received conflicting reports about both my choice of car and the blower approach:

1) 993 Cab chassis is way too soft and is only good for posing around town. I am keen to do some hard driving and maybe a couple of track days.

2) The high compression ratio on the 993 engine does not lend itself to a supercharger and I would be asking for trouble.

I would appreciate your views.

Thanks,

Dave

Domster,

Interesting thought. I've just noticed that the fastest ever 964RS is for sale with 460 bhp (was in GT Purely Porsche a couple of months ago). LHD mind you, but that amount of power is very appealing!

Of course, if I could pick up a reasonably priced 996, then there is a blower conversion that delivers 420 BHP!!
