Can anyone recommend someone to fit a CD Changer in the boot of my Cayenne? The dealer reckons it takes 2.5 hours at a cost of £300+parts. Funny thing is that Porsche GB specify that they come pre wired, so why it takes 2.5 hours is beyond me!

If anyone has fitting instructions, I will have a go myself!

I am based in East London / Essex area.

Thks

To fit the changer in the correct place on the right hand side of the boot is quite a fiddly job. The upper nuts for the fitting bracket are obscured and so to do the job propery does indeed necessitate the removal of a goodly proportion of the rear trim in your car.

£300 quid`s worth of removal ? Possibly not - one of the joys of using a professional car audio man is that he won`t be charging you £120 and hour save the money for difficult jobs like errr fitting a set of brake pads ?

In-car electrics Apsley (just of J20 of the M25) Speak to Paul or Carl on 01442 219319 absolute top chaps who do genuinely know what they are doing. Tell them Henry sent you and they will treat you like a king - or queen !

The Boxster is a whole heap easier, the changer is not hidden by trim in the same way. A blind man with a Fisher Price tool kit could do it in a couple of minutes - well almost.

Thanks Henry and others! Its nice to have an alternative to the OPC's. Particularly for work where the all important dealer stamp doesnt matter!!

Assuming your car's not too low to traverse the ridiculous speed humps on the way there...!

maybe the Cayenne could be useful at last!
