Does anyone know if it's possible/legal for a private individual to rent out their car, in my case, a 993 C2 manual coupe, fully serviced and currently sitting in storage. I'd rather rent it than have to sell it.

Many thanks. Kim

Thanks for the reply. Could the renter not provide fully-comp insurance themselves? I was thinking long-term rental rather than the odd week here and there.

Is that through a Classic Hire company do you know or a private owner?

After making a few enquiries, I'll be renting it out through a Classic Car Hire company rather than doing it myself. About £500 per weekend with limited mileage is about the going rate.

I was given the number of a specialist Porsche 911 Hire Company from a colleague on 911UK (thanks Tim) and that's who I've now teamed up with.

They are www.porsche911hire.co.uk and I found them extremely friendly and helpful.

I shall be renting my 993 out through them for the foreseeable future and if any of you are interested in finding out what the air-cooled magic/witchcraft is all about you should give Chris Miles a ring on 07914 74 74 78, and you never know, you may end up in my car!

They also have a 996 Turbo and 996 C4S for hire as well.
