So.....

My mate has been offered a 2 owner '98 C4 with 50k miles. Solid history. Sensible colour choices (you all know what I mean)

So I say 'Don't be mad. You don't want a fat arsed boxster lookalike with an exploding engine. Spend a few more pennies and you'll get a decent 993.'

But seriously it's a bit of a 'distress sale' offered between colleagues before it's advertised/offered to the vultures. I've said get a proper inspection and told him that Porsche will offer a warranty subject to inspection and handover of many shekels.

Is there anything else he should do before biting an arm off at the shoulder?????

For the record the 'fat-arsed boxster lookalike' is quicker and handles better than the model it replaced , which is my experience and what the motoring hacks said at the time

Sorry to tread on your corns....... er just a little humour to leaven a dull post. I've driven both and agree that the handling of the 996 is staggeringly good and way faster than a 993 in the hands of an average gimp like me.

My mate wants an everyday car. My 993 is a weekend adrenaline pump. With a 30k budget these days you pays yer money........

My main motive for posting was to get some positive responses, allay his fears about RMS etc. and to lure him into the fold. Looking good so far.
