Porsche newcomer.

Reading a number of interesting GT2 threads on Pistonheads Porsche forum for some time and then over the last three weeks driving three examples, the only way to deal with temptation was to yield.

A very very yellow 996 GT2 Clubsport arrives on Thursday.

I guess folks like the blend of different grin widening experiences. Although in April 06, after 5 years with the M5, I am deviating slightly from that combination by swapping it for an M6. Flappy paddles here I come.

Grinning in anticipation......... trackdays are the intention, with the added fun of driving there and back rather than trailering something.

I'm looking forward to learning new skills whilst experiencing track driving in the Porsche. Part of the deal is some track day tuition.

Thanks for the tip.

I am a newcomer to Porsche and the "ceramic" stoppers and am hearing conflicting advice about Porsche's PCCB and track days. Some folks claim it's OK, possibly better, so long as you heat em up and cool em down properly. Others have said swap em for Brembo steel rotors.

Have you any experience of PCCB issues?

Agree that the colour looks a bit odd in that first photo - it was the one from the advert.

Now I've actually got the car later photos show the colour off better.

Of course on track days any passing is with the kind consent of the driver in front.
