993 exhaust smoke

I added a litre of oil to my 993 last week and it has been smoking from the exhaust ever since. It did once kick out a clould of smoke one Monday morning after a long Sunday blast, but nothing like this.

Every time i start it i get a degree of smoke, and when i put my foot down yesterday i could see smoke in the rear mirror.

Could this be caused by me over filling with oil (have checked and the dip stick is indicating it has a litle too much in there) or do you think i have a major problem. Otherwise the car is running well.

thanks for the advice. does seem to be over fill. the level is back down to almost normal now and the smoke has gone (well so far). fingers crossed this is not a major engine issue
