a kindly thought, gratefully received. am now officially too old to buy a 911 without relentless mid-life crisis ribbing, which is sad.

and since I currently have a sore heel (and am having to wear the sort of orthopaedic insole usually reserved for geriatrics and dwarves), I think I'll leave this heel-toe stuff until the spring

This thread has made me feel like selling my car.

It could be re-produced and used as a recruiting tool for the 'Porsche Owners Are Tossers Society'

I feel almost as depressed as the time a thread headed 'Polish' racked up about 120 contributions.

i know how you feel. and i started it - it seems a simple question at the time. though probably Ive been on PH long enough to know better....

ted. how do I put a stop to this thread?

Ive had enough, guys and gals. seems PH isnt mature enough to respond to a simple question. Ive asked ted to close this thread.

Hang on Gents.

In amongst the ribbing and micky taking between a lot of the Porsche forum regulars (most of of them know each other!), they are are also posting a lot of decent comments related/pertinent to the thread title. I'm not sure we want to kick out humour from the forum.

true, i now understand what heel-toe is. unfortunately the lessons are rather lost in a morass of somewhat ill-tempered postings, which to me, as the poster, are less than useful.
I too have been here a while. I think I can tell the difference between gentle ribbing and abuse. this thread has unfortunately crossed the line IMHO. but live and let live - if you stil find it useful then fine. me, I'll be looking at the other posts from now on, and leave the above chaps to play "who has the biggest willy" on their own

clearly I ma going for "longest thread of 2006" as well as "longest thread of 2005".

having seen that excellent japanese chap doing his HT thang I have actually given it a few goes on quiet roads, without dying, which is an unexpected bonus. I have learned that its not a good idea to try in walking boots though. Oh and it seems to help to sit sidesaddle in the seat (unless one is congenitally club-footed) which is sorta weird, me being a boy and all, but not necessarily unpleasant
